(Attachment: Yellow Swelling)
The Classics state: "Urine that is yellow and red, accompanied by a desire to lie down and rest, indicates Jaundice Disease." This is mostly caused by excessive intake of alcohol and food, leading to disharmony of the Zang-Fu organs. The water and grain essences mix together, affecting the Spleen and Stomach, and are further combated by Wind-Dampness pathogens. The resulting stasis and accumulation do not dissipate; heat qi stagnates and steams. Symptoms include feeling hungry shortly after eating, yellowing of the body, face, eyes, fingernails, and urine, along with a frequent desire to lie down. These constitute the manifestations of this disease. There are five types of Jaundice: Huang-Ju (Yellow Jaundice), Gu-Ju (Grain Jaundice), Jiu-Ju (Wine Jaundice), Nü-Lao-Ju (Female Labor Jaundice), and Huang-Han (Yellow Sweat). Although the pathogenic factors of Damp-Heat are similar, they all arise from Dampness generating Heat. The mutual fermentation of Dampness and Heat produces the yellow color. Patients commonly experience difficulty in urination and defecation. Treatment should specifically focus on promoting urination, which is the most expedient and essential method. Once urination becomes clear and abundant, the yellow color will naturally recede. In recent times, herbal medicines are frequently used because they are fresh, cool in flavor, potent in nature, and rapidly effective in promoting flow. For those with a floating pulse, emetic or diaphoretic methods should be used; for those with a deep pulse, purgative or draining methods should be used. If, after seven or eight days, there is a bloody taste in the mouth, purgative therapy is also appropriate.

Alternatively, Luobozzi (Brassicae Semen) powdered, taken with warm water, three times daily. Or burn Si Gua Lian Zi (Luffae Fructus cum Semen) to ash. If caused by facial disease, mix with flour soup; if caused by alcohol, mix with wine.

Select any one, crush finely, mix with raw white liquor, squeeze out the juice, and drink.
