(Acquisition of Acupuncture and Moxibustion)
The acupuncture and moxibustion secrets of Huangdi (Yellow Emperor) and Qibo are clearly stated according to other classics. The twelve meridians of the Three Yin and Three Yang, plus two special meridians forming the Eight Extraordinary Vessels. The annotations of *Lingguang Fu* (Spiritual Light Ode) are extremely profound; for lateral and frontal headaches, reduce Lieque (LU 7). Jingming (BL 1) treats eye nebulae and pterygium; Tinghui (GB 2) treats deafness and qi stagnation with palpable masses. He liao (SI 19) is needled for nasal congestion and epistaxis; Yingxiang (LI 18) specifically treats nasal obstruction and loss of smell. For qi stagnation obstructing upwards, select Zusanli (ST 36); Tiantu (CV 22) and Wanzhong (CV 15) treat wheezing and phlegm. For heart pain and hand tremors, needle Shaohai (HT 3); Shaoze (SI 1) eliminates cold below the heart. For spasms in both legs, seek Yinshi (ST 32); Weizhong (BL 40) stabilizes five types of lower back pain. For pain in the hip joint, reduce Qiuxu (GB 40); Fuliou (KI 7) dispels edema with divine efficacy. Dubi (ST 35) treats wind-cold-damp bi; Kunlun (BL 60) cures asthma and foot qi disease. For heel pain, seek Pugen (BL 60); Chengshan (BL 57) resides for treating spasms and chronic hemorrhoids. Descending from the sole, find Yongquan (KI 1); this miraculous method should not be passed on lightly. This point treats many women's diseases, curing male gu accumulation and female pregnancy complications. Baihui (GV 20) and Guiwei (GV 1) treat dysentery; Dachangshu (BL 25) and Xiaochangshu (BL 27) regulate bowel movements. Qihai (CV 6) and Xuehai (SP 10) treat five types of strangury; Zhongwan (CV 12) and Xiawan (CV 10) treat abdominal hardness. After the period passes in shanghan (cold damage), Jimen (LR 14) heals it; for qi stabbing the breasts, seek Taiyuan (LU 9). Dadun (LR 1) treats inguinal hernia; Shuigou (GV 26) and Jiashi (PC 5) treat evil mania. Tonify Chize (LU 5) to stop hematemesis and calm wheezing; Dicang (ST 4) stops drooling. Laogong (PC 8) treats physical fatigue; moxa Fen shui (CV 9) for edema brings peace. For inability to move the five fingers, take Zhongzhu (TE 3); Jiache (ST 6) can needle toothaches. Yinqiao and Yangqiao vessels are at the ankles; for foot qi disease, first seek four points. Yinlingquan (SP 9) and Yanglingquan (GB 34) also govern them; the two qiao vessels and Zusanli work together. These points generally treat foot qi disease; one must grasp the mystery and needle correctly. Gao huang (BL 43) does more than treat a hundred diseases; if moxa is skillful, all illnesses heal. One needle removes multiple diseases; students should be careful. Understanding the meridian flow method from a bright teacher: head and eye diseases are treated by needling the limbs. Differentiate tonification and reduction based on respiration; acupoints correspond to the Five Elements and follow the Four Seasons. To understand human creation, this song is indeed the tool for grasping the essence.
(Acquisition of Acupuncture and Moxibustion)
When performing needling, one must examine the acupoints carefully; one must understand the techniques of tonification, reduction, following, and opposing. Chest, back, left, and right differ; respiration, yin-yang, and gender distinctions apply. For qi stabbing the breasts, seek Taiyuan (LU 9); if ineffective, reduce Lieque (LU 7). Lieque treats headache and lateral/frontal pain; heavy reduction of Taiyuan (LU 9) is invariably effective. For deafness and qi stagnation, needle Tinghui (GB 2); reducing Yingxiang (LI 18) works like a god. Who knows that Tiantu (CV 22) treats throat wind? For deficiency-type wheezing, seek Zusanli (ST 36). When hand and shoulder spine pain is unbearable, needle Hegu (LI 4) and Taichong (LR 3). Quchi (LI 11) treats unsatisfactory hands; needle Hegu (LI 4) carefully. For heart pain and hand tremors, use Shaohai (HT 3); to eradicate the root, seek Yinshi (ST 32). If suffering from shanghan (cold damage) with bilateral deafness, Ermen (TE 21) and Tinghui (GB 2) cure quickly as wind. For five types of elbow pain, seek Chize (LU 5); Lingyuan (SI 7) achieves success after needling. Needle Zusanli (ST 36) for upper and lower extremities; food stagnation and qi masses are taken care of by this. Jiutui (CV 15) treats five types of epilepsy; if Yongquan (KI 1) is needled, the person will not die. For gastric accumulation, puncture Xuanji (CV 15); the merit of Zusanli (ST 36) is unknown to many. Yinlingquan (SP 9) treats chest and heart fullness; needling Chengshan (BL 57) stimulates appetite. Seek Dazhu (BL 11) connected to Changqiang (GV 1); for small intestine qi pain, needle immediately. Weizhong (BL 40) specifically treats waist pain; for swollen feet and knees, seek Zhiyin (BL 67). For qi stagnation causing waist pain preventing standing, Henggu (KI 12) and Dadu (SP 13) can save emergencies. Qihai (CV 6) specifically treats five types of strangury; additionally needle Zusanli (ST 36) following respiration. Qimen (LR 14) governs shanghan cases; after seven days, if the channel has passed but sweating has not occurred. Direct towards Rupgen (ST 17) between the second ribs; it also treats difficult childbirth in women. Cicada-like ringing in ears and waist wanting to break: below the knee lies Mingxian Zusanli (ST 36). If one can tonify and reduce Wuhui (GV 13), do not easily tell others. When Jingming (BL 1) fails to treat eyes, how can Hegu (LI 4) and Guangming (GB 37) be lacking? Renzhong (GV 26) has the highest merit in treating mania; the Thirteen Ghost Points need no sparing. Edema: Fen shui (CV 9) combined with Qihai (CV 6); subcutaneous needling allows qi to dissipate naturally. For cold cough, first tonify Hegu (LI 4); then reduce Sanyinjiao (SP 6) with needling. Toothache, waist pain, and throat obstruction: how can Erjian (LI 2) and Yangxi (LI 5) escape illness? Sanjian (LI 3) and Shenshu (BL 23) are wonderful, effectively removing floating wind and labor in shoulders and back. If needling Jianjing (GB 21), Zusanli (ST 36) is required; otherwise, qi is not regulated. Most importantly, the single point Yanglingquan (GB 34): for knee pain, use burning needle. Weizhong (BL 40) treats waist pain and leg spasms; obtaining blood from its channel regulates it naturally. For foot pain and knee swelling, needle Zusanli (ST 36); Xuanzhong (GB 39), Erling (SP 9/GB 34), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6). Further, guide qi through Taichong (LR 3); numbness in fingertips will naturally float away. For spasms and dizziness, needle Yuji (LU 10); Chengshan (BL 57) and Kunlun (BL 60) eliminate it immediately. For abdominal pain, Gongsun (SP 4) is wonderful; Neiguan (PC 6) responds like blowing hair. Cold wind and cold bi diseases are hard to cure; Huantiao (GB 30) and Yaoshu (BL 23) require burning needles. Find Fengfu (GV 16) and Fengchi (GB 20); they cut off the root of shanghan and hundred diseases. On the second day of Yangming channel, seek Fengfu (GV 16); do not say Shangwan (CV 13) is far for vomiting. For women's heart pain, Fenglong (ST 40); for men, Zusanli (ST 36) is high. For involuntary urination, Guanyuan (CV 4) is good; for constipation, burn Dadun (LR 1). For wrist bone and leg pain, reduce Zusanli (ST 36); for Fuliou (KI 7) qi stagnation, relieve waist issues. Fengfu (GV 16) has always been the hardest to needle; one must exert effort to measure depth. If bladder qi has not dispersed, further seek Zusanli (ST 36). If encountering seven types of hernia and yin pain, needle Yinjiao (CV 13), Zhaohai (KI 6), and Ququan (LR 8). If still ineffective, seek Qihai (CV 6); Guanyuan (CV 4) together with reduction works like a god. Small intestine qi knot pain connecting to the navel: quickly reduce Yinjiao (CV 13), do not wait. After a while, needle Yongquan (KI 1) to obtain qi; who knows the mystery within? Children's rectal prolapse lasting long: first moxa Baihui (GV 20), then weishu (BL 27) or tailbone area. Long-term shanghan shoulder and back pain: simply needle Zhongzhu (TE 3) to get appropriateness. Shoulder pain connecting to unceasing navel pain: seek Zusanli (ST 36) in the hand. When needling induces numbness and heaviness, one must reduce; when deqi arrives, do not retain. Waist connecting to hip pain implies great severity; urgently attack the blockage via Zusanli (ST 36). Needle with one reduction and three tonifications; if qi attacks upward causing choking, it remains. If choking cannot be stopped, moxa Qihai (CV 6); definite reduction leads to immediate recovery. Tonification turns the needle high from Mao South; reduction goes from Mao North without refusing labor. Force qi out during inhalation; if tonifying, follow exhalation for natural regulation. Pinch needle left and right following Zi and Wu; withdrawing needle moves qi continuously. Clearly state tonification and reduction in needling; further investigate root and branch. For most urgent throat conditions, first Baihui (GV 20); Taichong (LR 3), Zhaohai (KI 6), and Yinjiao (CV 13). Students should study diligently; Xihong's treatment fame is highest.
