The *Erya* records Youzhou and Yingzhou, but does not record Qingzhou, Liangzhou, or Bingzhou; Qingzhou was merged into Xuzhou, Liangzhou into Yongzhou, and Bingzhou into Jizhou. This was the system of the Yin dynasty. The *Zhifangshi* (Chapter on Officials in Charge of Regions) records Qingzhou, Youzhou, and Bingzhou, but does not record Xuzhou, Liangzhou, or Yingzhou; it separated part of Jizhou to establish Bingzhou, merged Yingzhou into Youzhou, restored the Qingzhou established in the *Yu Gong*, and merged Xuzhou into Qingzhou.)
[Jizhou] Currently belongs to Beizhili and Shanxi, and also includes the three prefectures of Zhangde, Weihui, and Huaiqing in Henan Province.
The *Yu Gong* states: Jizhou. (Jizhou is bordered by the Yellow River on three sides: west of the Heze section of the Yellow River, east of the Yonghe section, and north of the Yuhe section. The *Zhou Li · Zhifangshi* refers to the region north of the river as Jizhou. It also mentions Youzhou, with Yingzhou merged into Youzhou; Yingzhou refers to the Liaodong region.)
[Yanzhou] Currently belongs to the two prefectures of Yanzhou and Dongchang in Shandong Province.
The *Yu Gong* states: Between the Ji River and the Yellow River lies Yanzhou. (Its boundaries extend southeast to the Ji River and northwest to the Yellow River.)
[Qingzhou] Currently belongs to the four prefectures of Qingzhou, Jinan, Dengzhou, and Laizhou in Shandong Province, as well as the Liaodong region.
The *Yu Gong* states: Between the sea and Mount Tai lies Qingzhou. (Its boundaries extend northeast to the sea and southwest to Mount Tai. "Tai" refers to Mount Tai.)
[Xuzhou] Currently belongs to Xuzhou in Nanzhili.
The *Yu Gong* states: Between the sea, Mount Tai, and the Huai River lies Xuzhou. (Its boundaries extend east to the sea, south to the Huai River, and north to Mount Tai. The reason the western boundary does not mention the Ji River is that south of Mount Tai and east of the Ji River belongs to Xuzhou, while north of Mount Tai and east of the Ji River belongs to Qingzhou; mentioning only the Ji River is insufficient to distinguish them, so it is omitted. The *Erya* states that east of the Ji River is Xuzhou because during the Shang dynasty there was no Qingzhou, and Qingzhou was merged into Xuzhou. The *Zhou Li* states that due east is Qingzhou because during the Zhou dynasty there was no Xuzhou, and Xuzhou was merged into Qingzhou.)
[Yangzhou] Currently belongs to the five provinces of Nanzhili, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong.
The *Yu Gong* states: Between the Huai River and the sea lies Yangzhou. (Its boundaries extend north to the Huai River and southeast to the sea.)
[Jingzhou] Currently belongs to the three provinces of Huguang, Guangxi, and Guizhou.
The *Yu Gong* states: From Mount Jing to the south of Mount Heng lies Jingzhou. (Its boundaries extend north to the southern branch of Mount Jing and south to the south of Mount Heng. Kong Shi of the Tang Dynasty said: Jingzhou takes the south of Mount Heng as its limit, likely because Mount Heng is the largest mountain in the south; using "south of Heng" indicates that the territory extends beyond this mountain, encompassing the area to its south.)
[Yuzhou] Currently belongs to Henan Province, and also includes the two prefectures of Xiangyang and Yunyang in Huguang.
The *Yu Gong* states: Between the Jing River and the Yellow River lies Yuzhou. (Its boundaries extend southwest to the southern branch of Mount Jing and north to the Great River [Yellow River].)
[Liangzhou] Currently belongs to the two provinces of Sichuan and Yunnan, and also includes the prefectures of Guiyang, Sizhou, and Pu'an in Guizhou Province.
The *Yu Gong* states: From the south of Mount Hua to the Black Water lies Liangzhou. (Its boundaries extend east to the south of Mount Hua and west to the Black Water.)
[Yongzhou] Currently belongs to Shaanxi Province.
The *Yu Gong* states: Between the Black Water and the Western River lies Yongzhou. (Its boundaries extend west to the Black Water and east to the Western River. It is called the "Western River" relative to the capital of Jizhou.)
