Moreover, if one runs about all day without rest, and only soaks the two feet in hot water at night, the benefit derived from this is minimal. It is better to raise the two feet high, causing Qi to reverse its flow, flowing into Yongquan (KI 1), and counter-flowing into the Dantian. After accumulating days, the feet become light, walking speed can rival a galloping horse, and steps are like flying. In the past, people used stillness to clarify the mind for minor ailments of the four limbs, slight disorders of the five Zang organs, and stagnation or obstruction of Qi and Blood. By sitting quietly, clearing the mind, closing the eyes, cutting off thoughts, and directing Heart Qi to the diseased area for a short while, there was no condition that could not be overcome. In the past, people treated accumulations and stagnations in the five Zang organs using the Six Syllable Breath method, which is the method of Huang Tingtuo. Zhang Zhengdao used this to preserve his form and prolong his life; Wang Wuzhen used this to treat diseases and extend longevity; Sun Simiao used this to cultivate himself and treat others. The method of the Six Syllables states: do not exhale with "Hu" in Spring, do not exhale with "He" in Summer, do not exhale with "He" in Winter, do not exhale with "Xu" in Autumn, and always sigh with "Xi" in the Four Seasons. This means the San Jiao (Triple Burner) has no deficiency; do not blow with "Chui" during the Eight Solar Terms, meaning the Kidney rarely achieves fullness. Whenever there is excess, draw out its Child element; whenever there is deficiency, suppress its Ghost (overcoming) element. This method is currently unknown to anyone; the Sages on Western Mountain have received its chants. No taboos are needed, but it is best to not eat empty/deficient foods in the morning and solid/rich foods in the evening; second best is plain food without flavor and vegetarian diet without meat. Why worry about the limbs and body not being filled and joyful? Regarding the principle of the Six Syllable Breath where excess draws the Child and deficiency kills the Ghost: the Liver's native breath is "Hu". If "Hu" cannot draw out Liver Qi, to draw the Child Qi, use the "Si" syllable to drain Heart Qi. Once Heart Qi moves, Liver Qi naturally transmits.
