(Thirty-six acupoints in total on both sides)
The *Jingmai Chapter* states: The Small Intestine is the meridian of Hand-Taiyang. It originates at the tip of the little finger. (Shaose, LI1) follows the ulnar side of the hand. (passes Qiangu, LI2 and Houxi, SI3) ascends to the wrist. (passes Wanggu, SI4 and Yanggu, SI5) emerges from the ankle bone. (Yanglao, SI6) goes straight up along the lower border of the forearm bone. (Zhizheng, SI7) emerges between the two tendons on the medial side of the elbow. (Xiaohai, SI8) ascends along the posterior-lateral border of the scapula.
Emerges from the shoulder joint. (Jianzhen, SI9) winds around the scapula. (passes Tianliao, SI10, Tiazong, SI11, Bingfeng, SI12, Quyuan, SI13, Jianwaiyu, SI14, Jianzhongyu, SI15, Dazhui, GV14, and Dazhu, BL11.) crosses over the shoulders. Enters the supraclavicular fossa (Quepen). Connects with the Heart, runs along the pharynx, descends through the diaphragm. Reaches the Stomach, and belongs to the Small Intestine.
Its branch, from the supraclavicular fossa, runs along the neck. (Tianchuang, SI16) ascends to the cheek. (Quanliao, SI18) reaches the outer canthus of the eye (Tongziliao, GB1), then turns back to enter the ear. (Tinggong, SI19)
Another branch, diverging from the cheek, ascends to the nasal root, reaching the inner canthus of the eye. (Jingming, BL1)斜行联络于颧部 (runs obliquely to connect with the zygomatic region).
It is also said: The collateral vessel of the Hand-Taiyang meridian is named Zhizheng. At five cun above the wrist, it enters internally to connect with the Hand-Shaoyin meridian. Its branch ascends to the elbow and connects with the shoulder.
The *Qifu Lun* states: The acupoints where the qi of the Hand-Taiyang meridian issues number thirty-six. One at each inner canthus. (The secondary note explains these are the Jingming acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One at each outer canthus. (Explained as Tongziliao acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One below each zygomatic bone. (Explained as Quanliao acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One above each auricle. (Explained as Jiaosun acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One in each ear. (Explained as Tinggong acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One at each Gugu acupoint. (Gugu is the name of the acupoint.) One at each bone hollow above the axilla. (Explained as Tianliao acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One at each depression above the vertebral column bone. (Explained as Jianjing acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One four cun above the Tianchuang acupoint. (Explained as Tianchuang and Qiaoyin acupoints, totaling four.) One at each shoulder joint. (Explained as Bingfeng acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) One three cun below the shoulder joint. (Explained as Tiazong acupoints, bilateral, totaling two.) From the elbow down to the base of the little finger, there are six shu points each side. (Explained as Xiaohai, SI8; Yanggu, SI5; Wanggu, SI4; Houxi, SI3; Qiangu, SI2; Shaose, SI1, totaling six acupoints.)
The *Jingbie Chapter* states: The regular pathway of the Hand-Taiyang meridian, pointing downwards towards the ground, diverges from the shoulder joint, enters the axilla, travels to the heart system, and reaches the Small Intestine.
The *Jingjin Chapter* states: The sinews of the Hand-Taiyang meridian originate above the little finger, knot at the wrist, ascend along the medial border of the arm, knot behind the sharp bone of the medial elbow, and upon stimulation, the sensation extends to above the little finger. They enter and knot in the axilla. Their branch travels posteriorly along the posterior border of the axilla, ascends winding around the scapula, runs along the neck emerging anterior to the Foot-Taiyang meridian, and knots at the occipital bone behind the ear. Another branch enters the ear. The straight branch emerges from above and below the ear, knots above the mandible, and belongs to the outer canthus of the eye.
Shaose (SI1) (Where the qi of the Hand-Taiyang meridian issues, Jing-Well point). Qiangu (SI2) (Where the qi flows, Ying-Spring point). Houxi (SI3) (Where the qi pours, Shu-Stream point). Wanggu (SI4) (Where the qi passes, Yuan-Source point). Yanggu (SI5) (Where the qi travels, Jing-River point). Yanglao (SI6) (No specific Five Element attribute recorded). Zhizheng (SI7) (Luo-Connecting point, diverging to connect with the Hand-Shaoyin meridian). Xiaohai (SI8) (Where the qi enters, He-Sea point). Jianzhen (SI9) (*Qifu Lun* states it is where the qi of the Hand-Shaoyang meridian issues; *Jia Yi Jing* secondary note states it is Hand-Taiyang). Tianliao (SI10) (Meeting point of Hand-Taiyang, Yangwei Mai, and Qiao Mai. ○ *Waitai Mi Yao* states it is a meeting of Hand and Foot Taiyang; *Juying* states it is Yangqiao Mai). Tiazong (SI11) (Where the qi issues). Bingfeng (SI12) (Meeting point of Hand-Yangming, Hand-Taiyang, Hand-Shaoyang, and Foot-Shaoyang). Quyuan (SI13), Jianwaiyu (SI14), Jianzhongyu (SI15), Tianchuang (SI16) (Where the qi issues). Quanliao (SI18) (Meeting point of Hand-Shaoyang and Hand-Taiyang). Tinggong (SI19) (Meeting point of Hand-Shaoyang, Foot-Shaoyang, and Hand-Taiyang).
According to *Waitai Mi Yao*, there are twenty-six acupoints, excluding Jianzhen, Quyuan, Jianwaiyu, Jianzhongyu, Quanliao, and Tinggong (these six are included in the Sanjiao Meridian). Instead, it includes Jingming (BL1, Bladder Meridian) and Tianrong (GB15, Gallbladder Meridian). Most texts follow this, which is incorrect. The *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing* diagram states: Tianrong belongs to the Hand-Taiyang meridian among the fourteen meridians. *Jia Yi Jing* states: Where the qi of the Hand-Shaoyang meridian issues. *Ling Shu* chapters 2 and 5 state it is the Foot-Shaoyang meridian. Chapter 5 states: The Foot-Shaoyang meridian roots at Qiaoyin and enters...
