(The Bladder [Pangguang] weighs nine taels and two zhu, is nine cun in length and width, located anterior to the Kidney [Shen] and lateral to the Large Intestine [Dachang], corresponding to the Shuifen (CV9) acupoint one cun above the umbilicus, at the lower opening of the Small Intestine [Xiaochang], which is the upper boundary of the Bladder; fluids seep into it from here). The *Ling Shu* states: The Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian [Zu Taiyang Pangguang Jing] originates at the inner canthus of the eye [Neicuo], ascends to the forehead, and intersects at the vertex [Dian] (The meridian starts at the Jingming (BL1) acupoint, ascends from the Cuanzhu (BL2) point to the forehead, passing through Qucha (BL7), Wuchu (BL8), etc., and from the Luoque (BL9) point runs obliquely to the left and right, intersecting at Baihui (GV20) on the vertex); its branch [Zhi] extends from the vertex to the upper angle of the ear (This branch runs laterally from Baihui to the upper angle of the ear, passing through Qubin (GB6), Lvgu (GB5), Tianchong (GB4), Fu Bai (GB3), Qiaoyin (GB10), and Wanggu (GB12) of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian [Zu Shaoyang Dan Jing]; these are all intersection points of the Foot-Taiyang and Foot-Shaoyang meridians); its main trunk [Zhi Zhe] enters the head from the vertex to connect with the brain [Nao] (From Baihui, it passes through Tongtian (BL7), Luoque (BL9), and Yuzhen (BL11), entering and connecting within the brain), emerges again, descends separately to the nape [Xiang], follows the interior of the shoulder blade [Jianbo], and reaches the waist [Yao] along both sides of the spine [Ji] (Emerging from behind the head, it descends separately to the nape, meeting Dazhui (GV14) and Daodao (GV13) of the Governor Vessel [Du Mai] via Tianzhu (BL10), then follows the interior of the shoulder blades, dividing into four rows descending; the two inner rows mentioned here run alongside the spine, each 1.5 cun apart, passing from Dashu (BL11) through Fengmen (BL12) and various Back-Shu points of the Zang-Fu organs, reaching the waist, etc. The vertebral column in the center is called Ji. The pelvic bone is called Yao), enters the paraspinal muscles [Lv], connects with the Kidney, and belongs to the Bladder (Entering the paraspinal muscles from the waist to connect with the Kidney, it belongs anteriorly to the Bladder, forming a exterior-interior relationship. The flesh on both sides of the spine is called Lv); its branch descends from the waist, running alongside the spine, penetrating the buttocks [Tun], and entering the popliteal fossa [Zhong] (Descending from the waist along the hip bone alongside the spine, passing through Chengfu (BL36), Yinmen (BL37), Fupi (BL38), Weiyang (BL39), and entering Weizhong (BL40) in the popliteal fossa. The large bone beside the sacrum is called Tun. The bend behind the knee is called Zhong); another branch arises from the medial side of the popliteal fossa, descends separately to penetrate the scapula, and runs inside the spine (This branch refers to the outer two rows below Dashu in the shoulder blade region, penetrating the scapula on both sides, three cun away from the spine, passing through Fufen (BL43), Pohu (BL42), Gaohuang (BL44), etc., descending alongside the spine, passing Zhizhong (BL54) over the greater trochanter [Bishu]), passes the greater trochanter, follows the lateral aspect of the thigh [Bi], and joins the popliteal fossa from the posterior margin (Passing the greater trochanter, it meets Huantiao (GB30) of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, follows the posterior-lateral margin of the thigh, between 1.5 cun distal to Chengfu, descends, and joins those previously entering the popliteal fossa), then penetrates the calf [Cheng], emerges posterior to the lateral malleolus [Waihuai], follows Jinggu (BL64), and ends at the lateral tip of the little toe [Xiaozhi] (Penetrating the calf involves points from Heyang (BL57) downwards such as Chengjin (BL56) and Chengshan (BL58). Emerging posterior to the lateral malleolus involves Kunlun (BL60) and Pucan (BL61). The large bone after the base of the little toe is called Jinggu, and the lateral tip of the little toe is called Zhiyin (BL66); Foot-Taiyang meridian points end here, connecting below the little toe to the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian [Zu Shaoyin Shen Jing]). Its collateral [Bie] is named Feiyang (BL58), seven cun from the ankle, diverging to the Shaoyin. In excess conditions, there is nasal obstruction and headache/back pain; in deficiency conditions, there is rhinorrhea or epistaxis; treatment should target this divergent point (The collateral of the Foot-Taiyang is named Feiyang, located seven cun above the lateral malleolus, diverging to the Foot-Shaoyin. This meridian originates at the inner canthus, connects to the brain, and travels the head and back, hence these symptoms. To treat this, one should select the divergent point Feiyang). Its main pathway enters the popliteal fossa; one branch descends five cun from the sacrum, enters the anus [Gang], belongs to the Bladder, disperses in the Kidney, follows the paraspinal muscles towards the heart [Xin] to disperse; the straight path ascends from the paraspinal muscles to the nape, re-attaching to the Taiyang, constituting one meridian (The Bladder and Kidney are exterior-interior pairs, so their meridians form a union. The proper Foot-Taiyang enters the popliteal fossa, merging with the Shaoyin to ascend; its divergent branch descends five cun from the sacrum, near Chengfu, enters the anus, travels internally in the abdomen, belongs to the Bladder, disperses in the Kidney, follows the paraspinal muscles towards the heart to disperse, ascends out to the nape, and re-attaches to the original Taiyang meridian, representing one internal-external unit). Its sinews [Jin] originate at the little toe, bind upwards at the ankle, and slant upwards to bind at the knee (Foot-Taiyang sinews correspond to the termination of the meridian, next to Zhiyin. Following the lateral dorsum of the foot, they bind at the lateral malleolus near Kunlun, then slant up to Fuyang and bind at the popliteal region. 'Bind' means gather); the lower part follows the lateral malleolus and binds at the heel [Zhong]; the upper part follows the Achilles tendon [Gen] and binds at the popliteal fossa (The lower part is below the dorsum of the foot. Zhong is the prominent part of the heel. Gen is the hard tendon above the Zhong, corresponding to Pucan and Shenmai, binding at Weizhong in the popliteal fossa); its divergent part binds at the lateral side of the popliteal fossa, ascends along the medial margin of the popliteal fossa, and merges with Weizhong (This is a soft short tendon branching from the large tendon, like branches on a tree. All 'divergent' or 'branch' descriptions follow this pattern. This branch diverges from the lateral malleolus, passes under the calf apex, runs posterior to the Shaoyang, binds at the lateral collateral point Feiyang, ascends along the medial margin of the popliteal fossa, and unites with the large tendon at Weizhong), ascends to bind at the buttocks (Beside the coccyx, at Hu yang), ascends to flank the spine and reach the nape (Flanking the dorsal spine, ascending bilaterally to the nape, meeting Tao Dao and Dazhui of the Du Mai; these are strong sinews attached to the spine); its branch enters separately to bind at the root of the tongue [Sheben] (This branch diverges from the nape, travels internally, binds with the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian sinews at the root of the tongue, and disperses under the tongue. Above this, all are soft sinews dispersing in the head and face); the straight path binds at the occipital bone [Zhen Gu], goes over the head to the face [Yan], and binds at the nose (The straight path ascends from the nape, combines with Foot-Shaoyin sinews at the occiput, goes over the head, descends anteriorly to the face, binding at both sides below the nose. The forehead is called Yan). Its branch forms the upper eyelid net [Mu Shangwang], binding downward at the cheekbone [Quan] (Net refers to the ligamentous structure constraining the eyeball, governing opening and closing. Below the eye is Quan, i.e., the zygomatic bone. This branch descends from the brain connection to the eye root, disperses above the eye as the upper eyelid net, and descends to bind at Quan, combining with Foot-Shaoyang sinews); its branch from the posterior-lateral axilla binds at the shoulder [Jian] (Another branch follows the spine-flanking path to the posterior-lateral axilla, runs posterior to Foot-Shaoyang, ascends to the shoulder, meets Hand-Yangming sinews, and binds at the shoulder); its branch enters the axilla [Ye Xia], ascends out of the supraclavicular fossa [Quepen], and binds at Wanggu (This posterior branch moves from the posterior axilla to the axilla,斜wardly exits Yangming's Quepen, then ascends straight from behind the ear, meeting Hand-Taiyang and Foot-Shaoyang sinews, binding at Wanggu. Wanggu is the high bone behind the ear); its branch emerges from Quepen, slants upward to the mandible [Yu Han] (This anterior branch diverges from Quepen sinews, ascends to the chin/jaw, slants out to Yu Han, joining the previous branch binding at Quan). When this meridian is disturbed, disease manifests as rushing headache, eyes feeling as if protruding, neck feeling as if pulled, spinal pain, waist feeling as if broken, inability to flex the thigh, popliteal fossa feeling knotted, calf feeling torn, known as An Jue (Ankle Jue). This meridian governs diseases of the sinews: hemorrhoids, malaria, mania/epilepsy, vertex/headache, yellow eyes, lacrimation, nasal obstruction/epistaxis, pain in the neck, back, waist, sacrum, and feet, and dysfunction of the little toe. In excess, the Renying pulse is twice as large as the Circumference Mouth (Cunkou) pulse; in deficiency, the Renying pulse is smaller than Cunkou.]
