The symptoms of jaundice are divided into five types, yet there is no difference in the nature of damp-heat. This is because damp-heat accumulates within the Spleen and Stomach, and over time fails to dissipate; thus, the color of Earth manifests on the face and skin.
Jaundice (Huangdan)
Diguopi (Cortex Lycii Radicis) 3 liang, Sharen (Fructus Amomi Rotundus, stir-fried) 1 liang, Heizao (Fructus Jujubae Nigrae) 4 liang (with Sharen hidden inside).
Decoct with two bowls of water until half remains, expose to the night air overnight, and take warm at Wugeng time (approx. 3-5 AM). For deeper conditions, three doses will surely be effective.
Another method: Use a handful of Taogen (Radix Persicae) growing towards the east, with a thickness similar to chopsticks. On the morning of Qingming Festival, ensure no chickens, dogs, or women see it. Cut finely; decoct with one large sheng of water until halved, and take on an empty stomach. Frequently drink one cup of clear wine so that the yellow color in the eyes disperses easily; otherwise, dispersion will be slow. (Secret recipe from Xu Zhicai's family)
Another use: Ji Zi (Gallus gallus domesticus egg) 36 pieces, burn the whole egg including the shell to ash, mix with Yi (a unit of volume for liquid, approx. 200ml) of Cu (Vinegar), take warm. Effectiveness is indicated by worms emerging from the nose. (Waitai Miyao)

Decoct with water and take. (Medical Books)
