The above seven herbs are crushed separately, sifted into a powder [Method], then further ground in a mortar [Method]. Mix with rice water and administer one Fangcunbi [Method] per dose. If urination becomes smooth, discontinue subsequent doses [Method]. Administer twice daily [Method].
The formula is named after Oyster Shell and Alisma because treating dampness requires heavy, salty substances. Generally, purging water retention favors bitter flavors, while reducing swelling favors salty flavors. The salinity of Oyster Shell, Alisma, and Thallus Sargassae, along with Corydalis... Take the single ingredient (Honey), place it in a copper vessel, and simmer gently over low heat until it resembles maltose syrup, ensuring it does not burn. When cool enough to handle, shape into suppositories, approximately as thick as a finger and two cun long, sharpening one end while warm.
This is the "Honey Suppository External Guidance" method. It is indicated when there is no excess pathogen in the Stomach, but fluids are depleted and dry, causing qi channels to be knotted and obstructed, resulting in constipation. In such cases, honey suppositories are used. Although described as externally moistening the Po Men (anus),

Extract the bile, mix with a small amount of vinegar, and enema into the Gu Dao (anus). After about the time it takes to eat one meal, bowel movement should occur.
This is the "Pig Gallbladder Enema" method. It is indicated when heat accumulation occurs in the lower jiao, with intestinal fullness but deficient Stomach qi. Using harsh purgatives like Chengqi Decoction might severely damage Stomach qi; therefore, the cold nature of Pig Gallbladder and the sour astringency of Vinegar are used to guide and collect.

Shumi Banxia Decoction is not a formula for treating the extraordinary meridians and collaterals. According to *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) Chapter 26: There are twelve primary meridians and fifteen collaterals; the remaining three collaterals... [Text fragment missing] ... Yang ... Sweet and sour flavors enter the Stomach and penetrate the blood level. Water from a thousand li ladled ten thousand times shares the same principle as Ganlan Water (Gentle Wave Water), aiming for its light and ascending nature, which does not assist yin pathogens. Burning with reed firewood represents vigorous fire. Adding herbs after boiling and simmering slowly embodies the method of ascending and descending. Ascending is facilitated by Banxia, which unblocks the Wei (Defensive) level from the yang aspect to vent pathogens; descending is facilitated by Shumi, which enters the yin aspect to unblock the Ying (Nutritive) level and tonify deficiency. When yin and yang are unblocked, sleep is restored immediately, and sweat naturally emerges; thus it is said, "When sweat appears, the disease is resolved."
