Given context of kidney/waist, Psoraleae Fructus is standard. However, strictly translating text: "Po Gu Zhi". In TCM, Po Gu Zhi is often synonymous with Bu Gu Zhi (Psoraleae Fructus)). This will cause the discharge of cold pus and much foul matter, and the disease will cease. Ancients used toxic drugs to attack diseases, always adjusting according to the patient's deficiency or excess, not using them indiscriminately. When Yao Sengyuan first entered official service, Emperor Wu of Liang had a fever and wished to take Da Huang. Sengyuan said, "Da Huang is a drastic purgative; Your Majesty is advanced in age and should not use it lightly." The Emperor did not listen and nearly became prostrate. Emperor Yuan often suffered from heart and abdominal ailments; all physicians suggested using mild medicines to gradually unblock. Sengyuan said, "The pulse is surging and solid; this indicates retained food. Without Da Huang, there is no hope of recovery." The Emperor followed his advice and recovered. From this, we see that modern physicians use one toxic drug to attack various diseases; if it accidentally hits the mark, they claim the formula is miraculous, while ignoring cases of failure or error. Such medication errors are common; must one not be vigilant?
"Xiu Zhen Fang", Immortal Formula.
Tusizi (Cuscutae Semen) one dou, wine one dou, soak for a long time, filter out and sun-dry, then soak again, continuing until the wine is exhausted; take two qian each time with warm wine, twice a day; afterwards eat three or five spoons of rice porridge to settle the medicine. An old man of three years becomes young; this medicine treats the lower back and knees, dispels wind, and prolongs life with long-term use.
