Ge's Formula: Cut the rooster's comb, apply the blood to the affected area.
Another method: Seal salt on the wound, and it will heal immediately. It is said that if the centipede has moved far away, it will not recur.
Yet another method: Heat the salt and soak the affected area in it.
Yet another method: Chew garlic or small garlic, or apply the white sap of a mulberry tree to the affected area. Rubbing with the dirt from the sole of a hemp shoe is also effective.
Centipedes bite fiercely, but their venom is significantly lighter than that of bees. The initial pain is slight and subsides easily; this method also treats spider bites.
Iron rust (Shengtieyi), ground with vinegar, take the thick juice and apply it. Another recipe uses black sesame oil mixed with lead white (Hufen), applied to the wound. Change when dry until healed. Applying goat peach leaves to the affected area leads to immediate recovery.
Supplementary Formulas (for earthworms, mole crickets, silkworm bites, earwig urine, and other venomous insect bites)
"Mei Shi Fang": Treats centipede bites where pain persists.
Rub a single-clove garlic on the bitten area for persistent pain.
Also "Jingyan Houfang": Burn chicken manure, mix with wine, and apply; this is excellent. Alternatively, mix chicken manure with vinegar and apply.
"Shenghui Fang": A formula for treating centipede bites.
Use snail juice, extracted by rubbing, and drip it into the bitten area.
"Bingbu Shouji": Treats spider bites causing sores all over the body.
Drink good spring wine until drunk, preventing the patient from turning over, keeping them lying down. Fearing the alcohol toxicity might rot the flesh, within moments the insect inside the flesh, small as a grain of rice, emerges naturally.
Also "Tan Shi Xiao'er Fang": Take one stalk of green onion, remove the tip, make a hole at the head. Insert an earthworm into the onion leaf, tightly pinch both ends to prevent air leakage.
Shake frequently until it turns into water, then dab onto the bitten area for cure.
Liu Yuxi's "Chuanxin Fang": Treats injuries from insects and bugs.
Take one bowl of Isatis root juice, add realgar and musk, using whatever amount is appropriate. Grind finely, pour into the Isatis juice, and dab onto the bitten area. If poisoned, drink the juice thoroughly; it is extremely miraculous. In the past, Clerk Zhang served as a judge under Zhang Yanshang in Jiannan. He was suddenly bitten on the neck by a spotted spider. Overnight, two red lines appeared at the bite site, thin as chopsticks encircling the neck, extending from the chest down to the Heart Meridian. After two nights, his head and face swelled and hurt, the size of several bowls, and his abdomen gradually swelled, nearly leading to death. Minister Zhang valued recommendations, so he offered five hundred thousand cash from his family assets and recommended hundreds of thousands more. He recruited someone who could treat him. Suddenly, a man responded saying he could cure it. Minister Zhang initially doubted him and wanted to verify the formula, ordering him to prepare the medicine before his eyes. The man said he did not cherish secrets, only aiming to save lives. He took a porcelain bowl of Isatis juice, threw a spider into it, and after a long time, the spider emerged. It seemed very lethargic in the juice and unable to move. He then mashed more Isatis juice, added musk powder, and threw another spider in, which died in the juice. He then took Isatis juice and musk, added realgar, mixed them, and threw a third spider in, which instantly turned into water. Minister Zhang and others were amazed, so they ordered it to be dabbed on the bite site. Within two days, everything flattened and healed, leaving only a small sore at the bite site that scabbed and fell off like before.
"Jingyan Fang": Treats spider bites causing silk-like growths all over the body.
Drink one sheng of sheep milk. In the tenth year of Zhenyuan, Clerk Cui Congzhi reported witnessing someone bitten by a spider. His abdomen was swollen like a pregnant woman's, and his family abandoned him.
Begging for food on the road, a monk met him and taught him to drink sheep milk. Within a few days, he recovered.
Another method: Treats earthworm bites.
Make a strong saltwater decoction and soak the body several times for a cure. Zhang Shao, a military general in Zhewest, was bitten by this insect. His condition resembled wind bi syndrome, with eyebrows and beard falling out. Every night, earthworms would "sing" on his body. A monk taught him this method, and he recovered.
Another method: Treats earthworm bites where symptoms resemble severe wind disease, with loss of eyebrows and beard.
Soak the body in ferrous sulfate solution (Duanshi water); this is also good.
"Shenghui Fang": Mainly treats earwig bites.
Apply chicken manure to the affected area.
Another method: Treats mole cricket bites.
Use ferrous sulfate (Duanshi), mix with vinegar, and apply.
"Guangli Fang": Treats silkworm bites.
Grind musk finely, mix with honey, and apply for a cure.
"Qianjin Fang": Treats earwig urine sores.
Burn the bark of Chinaberry tree branches to ash, mix with lard, and apply.
Another method: Mash fermented soybeans (Douchi) and apply.
Another method: Mix vinegar with powder and apply.
Another method: Treats earwig urine shadow.
Where it touches, it causes sores resembling millet grains clustered together, causing intense pain. Sudden dry, stinging pain appears on the body, similar to after being stung by a thorn bug, forming clusters of fine sores like cornel seeds. The edges are red, with white pus in the center like millet grains. It also causes skin tightness, chills, and high fever throughout the body. In extreme cases, it spreads continuously across the waist, ribs, and chest.
Treatment: Upon first onset, grind rhinoceros horn and apply to stop it.
"Bowuzhi": Treats earwig urine shadows, which cause sores wherever they touch.
Apply Chinese purslane juice; this is good.
"Waitai Miyao": Treats earwig urine sores circling the body, which can be fatal.
Mix soil from swallow nests with lard and vinegar, and apply.
Another method: Treats earwig urine sores.
Burn deer horns to powder, mix with vinegar, and apply.
Minister Qian's Formula: Treats earwig urine sores with yellow fluid discharge.
Chew pear leaves and apply; change when dry.
"Shengjin Fang": Treats earwig bites forming sores. Initially like millet grains, gradually enlarging to bean size, then larger like hot paste burns, with extreme pain. Quickly use grass tea or wax tea, mix with raw oil, and apply. The pain stops immediately upon application; this is wonderful.
"Shenghui Fang": Treats venomous insect bites.
Apply Arnebia oil (Zicao oil).
Another method: Mix butter with salt and apply.
