Baihe Disease (Lily Disease) discourse states: Baihe disease refers to a condition where there is no specific meridian pathology, but rather the hundred vessels are affected simultaneously as one source. Patients often remain silent, desire to eat but cannot, desire to lie down but cannot sleep, desire to walk but cannot move; sometimes they perceive food odors, sometimes feel chills without actual coldness, feel heat without actual fever, have a bitter taste in the mouth, and dark urine. Various medications fail to cure it; upon taking medicine, symptoms worsen with vomiting and diarrhea, as if possessed by spirits. Although the physical appearance seems normal, the pulse is subtle and rapid. If headache occurs during urination, recovery takes sixty days; if there is no headache during urination but a sensation of chilliness (Xixi), recovery takes forty days; if urination feels comfortable but dizziness occurs, recovery takes twenty days. The manifestation of this syndrome may be anticipated before onset, appear four or five days after onset, or slightly manifest after twenty days or one month. Treatment should follow the specific syndrome (Huo Ren Shu states: This disease is named Baihe Shanghan, often transforming into a strange illness due to incomplete recovery after Shanghan, Xu Lao, or major diseases).
After sweating treatment for Baihe disease, Baihe Zhi Mu Tang (Lily and Anemone Decoction) is appropriate.
Formula of Baihe Zhi Mu Tang:

Separately, add two cups of well water to Zhi Mu, decoct until one cup remains, filter dregs. Mix one cup of Baihe juice with one cup of Zhi Mu juice, decoct together until one and a half cups remain. Take warm in two doses.
For Baihe disease following purgation, Huashi Daizhe Tang (Talcum and Hematite Decoction) is appropriate.
Formula of Huashi Daizhe Tang:
Baihe (Lilii Bulbus, ten pieces, split) Huashi (Talcum, three liang, crushed and wrapped in cotton) Daizheshi (Hematitum, size of a bullet, crushed and wrapped in cotton)

Separately, add two sheng of water to Huashi and Daizheshi, decoct until one sheng remains, filter dregs. Mix the two filtrates, decoct together until one sheng remains. Take warm in two doses.

Formula of Baihe Dihuang Tang:
Baihe (Lilii Bulbus, seven pieces, split) Sheng Dihuangzhi (Jus Radicis Rehmanniae Recens, one sheng)

Usage: Use one sheng of Baihe, steep in one dou of water overnight. Use this water to wash the body. After washing, consume boiled noodles, but do not add salt or fermented soybeans.

When Baihe disease manifests with Yin characteristics, save it using Yang methods; when it manifests with Yang characteristics, save it using Yin methods. Attacking Yin when Yang signs are present and then inducing sweating again is contrary to principle. Attacking Yang when Yin signs are present and then using purgation is also contrary to principle.
