Teeth are the culmination of bones and are nourished by marrow. Children with insufficient congenital Kidney Qi cannot ascend to nourish, resulting in an emptiness of the Marrow Sea (brain/marrow reservoir), which fails to fill the bones; how can it then nourish the teeth? Therefore, delayed tooth eruption occurs, and Dihuang Wan (Rehmannia Pill) is the primary prescription for treatment. A three-year-old child could not yet speak or walk, had particularly sparse hair and teeth, was emaciated, found standing difficult, and presented with fever and thirst. Administration of Fei'er Wan (Flesh-Enriching Pill) yielded no effect. I stated this was a deficiency-type Gan syndrome (malnutrition syndrome) due to Kidney deficiency. This is because Fei'er Wan is a medication for the Spleen and Stomach meridians; prolonged use exacerbates Kidney deficiency and worsens the Gan condition. The parents did not believe this, and the child's teeth and hair gradually fell out. Subsequently, Dihuang Wan augmented with Lurong (Deer Antler) and Wuweizi (Schisandra Berry) was used, and after half a year, the Yuanqi (Original Qi) became robust. Another child was emaciated, had thin legs, found walking difficult, had insecure teeth, and sparse, short hair. Treatment with Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) and Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) for over a year resulted in the complete resolution of all symptoms and a robust physique.
[Zhang Huan] Xiangfu Dan (Cyperi Bulbus Pill) treats delayed tooth eruption.
Da Xiangfu Zi (Cyperi Rhizoma, selected clean, skin scraped off) Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, each 1 liang) Xiong Shufen (Male Rat Feces, burnt to ash) Ganchan (Dry Bufo, burnt to ash) Binglang (Arecae Semen, each 0.5 liang).
The above ingredients are pounded, sifted into fine powder, and mixed with 4 liang of Sheep Medulla (Ovis Fel Uterus/Marrow) boiled until soft to form a paste, sized like millet grains. Take 10 pills per dose, administered with Shexiang Tang (Musk Decoction), adjusting dosage according to the child's size.
[Tang Shi] Xionghuang San (Ligustici Chuanxiong and Rehmanniae Radix Powder) treats delayed tooth eruption in children.
Da Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) Sheng Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens, each 0.5 liang) Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried, each 1 fen).
The above are baked, ground into powder, and taken with hot water. Alternatively, the powder may be applied to the gums.

After twenty-one days, teeth should emerge. Female rat feces have pointed heads. *Qianjin* agrees. *Yang Shi Chanru Fang* uses 30 pieces, specifying female feces, using those that are round at both ends.
