Damp sores (Shi Jie) manifest as small pustules with thin skin and frequent exudation of yellow fluid. This is caused by wind-heat toxic factors invading the interstices of the skin.

[Acute Sores]
Minister Yuan Xisheng’s secret prescription for sudden onset of sores: Use an appropriate amount of Duanshi (calcined limestone), mix with Cu Jiangshui (vinegar water), and apply. Relief is immediate. Another method: Roast Duanshi until red, remove heat, mix with Xiangyou (sesame oil), and apply several times.
Another Method: Wash with the juice extracted from soaking Duanshi. (From Sun Simiao)
[Chronic Sores]
Muxiang San (Wood Fragrance Powder) [from *Baojian*]: Treats chronic non-healing ulcers and all types of malignant sores; promotes tissue regeneration and relieves pain.

Another variation adds Digupi (Cortex Lycii) to the above formula. First, wash the wound with warm Jiangshui (fermented rice water), pat dry, then apply the medicine. The efficacy is remarkable, especially for treating chancre (Xiagan Chuang).
[Danic Formulas] For sores persisting for years: Take Jiugen (Root of Allium tuberosum) aged 1000 years, stir-fry until carbonized but retaining properties, grind to powder, mix with Zhuyou (pig fat), and apply. Three applications suffice. (From *Jingyan*)
For chronic malignant sores that do not heal, or present with pain/itching and ulceration: Grind horse manure and tooth ash together and apply. Two or three applications are effective. Wu Liangxiang suffered from a painful sore on his lower leg in Shu; this remedy cured him. (From *Bingbu Shouji*)
[Danic Formula] For wind-sores persisting for a long time: Burn Gujiang (wild arrowhead stem/rhizome) to ash and apply. (Note: In *Bencao*, Gujiang refers to wild arrowhead.)
[Sand Sores]
Danxi stated: The primary treatment for Sand Sores is killing parasites.

Calcine to ash, grind to powder, mix with sesame oil, and apply. Another method: Use old ship bottom ash, grind fine, sieve, mix with Tongyou (tung oil), and apply for immediate effect. Another method: Burn Shuiluju (water lettuce) to ash, mix with sesame oil for immediate cure; if there is excessive moisture, apply dry powder. (Shuiluju resembles lily, grows near water, fruits in July-August, and looks like wild perilla.)
[Leprosy-like Sores]
Leprosy-like sores arise from deficiency in the couli (skin pores), allowing wind-dampness to enter the blood and qi, leading to aggregation. They often appear on hands and feet, resembling new cornel berries. Pain and itching lead to scratching and ulceration, with yellow fluid oozing, cracking, and intermittent healing and recurrence. Parasites may develop, hence the name "Leprosy-like Sore."
Loulu San (Radix Agrimoniae Powder): Treats wind-leprosy sores with hot swelling.
Ingredients: Loulu (Radix Agrimoniae, de-rhizome), Chuan Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae Foetidae), Mutong (Caulis Akebiae, de-cortex), Chi Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, honey-fried), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), each 1 liang; Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii, de-rhizome), Zhike (Fructus Aurantii, bran-fried, de-core), Chuan Pu Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), each 2 liang.

Treatment for damp leprosy-like sores:
Ingredients: Hu Yan Ke (Swallow's nest, one piece, largest size, specifically from nests where chicks were raised).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into a fine powder. First, decoct Gancao (Licorice Root) in water with a little salt, wash the area clean, dry, and apply the nest powder. It heals within two to three applications. If suffering from thorn-like lesions, mix with vinegar to form a paste, apply several times, twice daily.
Another Method:
Ingredients: Sheng Jiu (Fresh Garlic Chives, one handful, chopped and crushed).
Preparation and Administration: Soak in 5 he of warm vinegar for a while, squeeze out the juice through cloth. Apply to the sore by wiping, 3-4 times daily.
Treatment for dry/wet leprosy-like sores and tinea:
Take fresh green onion whites with roots, mix with pig fat, pound, and apply.
Chronic leprosy-like sores that fail to heal are due to deficiency in the skin pores, causing stagnation of wind-dampness. Parasites grow between muscles, causing constant pain and itching, thus prolonging the disease.
Lilu Gao (Veratum Ointment): Treats various leprosy-like sores that have persisted and developed parasites.
Ingredients: Lilu (Veratri Radix), Songzhi (Resina Pini, finely ground), Kushen (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis), Xionghuang (Realgar, finely ground), Baifen (Alumen, calcined), each 2 liang, ground.
Preparation and Administration: First, coarsely crush Lilu and Kushen, mix with 1 jin of pig fat, boil about ten times, filter through silk to remove dregs. Then add powders of Songzhi, Xionghuang, and Baifen, mix well, cool, store in porcelain, and apply as needed until healed.
For leprosy-like sores persisting for years:
Ingredients: Xunluxiang (Olibanum/Radix Boswelliae), Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum), each half liang; Liuhuang (Sulfur, finely ground), Nifen (Calomelas), each 2.5 qian; Huangla (Beeswax), 1 liang; You (Oil), 2 he.
Preparation and Administration: Grind all into a fine powder. Boil clear oil, melt the wax, add the herb powders, and simmer into a thin paste. Cool, store in porcelain, and apply as needed.
Kushen Tang Wash Formula:
Ingredients: Dyu (Radix Sanguisorbae), Taopi (Cortex Persicae), Kushen (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis), each 5 liang.
