In cases where the bones of the chest protrude due to a fall and cannot be reduced, have the patient lean against a solid object. The physician places their feet on the patient's feet, passes their hands from under the armpits over the back, crosses them to embrace the patient's back firmly, then lifts the shoulders and raises the chest with their hands, allowing the bones to reduce spontaneously. Subsequently, apply Dingtong Gao (Pain-Relieving Ointment) and Jiegu Gao (Bone-Setting Ointment). In cases of blunt force trauma to the chest wall causing external swelling and internal pain, apply Dingtong Gao externally, and internally administer Huoxue Yao (Blood-Breaking Medicines) to eliminate blood stasis, followed by taking Xiaoxue Cao (Xiaoxue Herb) ground with wine. For knife wounds, first realign the bone, approximate the skin edges, and ensure proper alignment. Then treat the wound with Fengkou Yao (Wound-Sealing Medicine), apply Bujie San (Muscle-Nourishing Powder) mixed with egg white externally, and internally administer Bushun Yao (Trauma-Replenishing Medicines) or Huoxue Dan (Blood-Invigorating Pill). For fractured sternum or ribs, first use Huoxue Yao (Blood-Breaking Medicines), then apply Dingtong Gao (Pain-Relieving Ointment) and Jiegu Gao (Bone-Setting Ointment). If the skin is broken, apply Burou Gao (Flesh-Replenishing Ointment). For severe chest and hypochondriac injuries with stagnant blood, administer mung bean juice mixed with fresh ginger. Alternatively, have a strong person press firmly from behind to induce vomiting of stagnant blood, followed by Huoxue Yao (Blood-Breaking Medicines). For abdominal injuries where the abdominal wall is completely ruptured and intestines eviscerate: if the intestine is completely severed, it is difficult to treat; however, if it is lacerated but not severed, it can be treated. When intestines eviscerate, have the patient rest their hand on the physician's shoulder, allowing the physician to guide the reduction laterally. Lubricate the wound with sesame oil, reduce the intestine into the abdominal cavity, then blow Tongguan San (Airway-Opening Powder) into the nose to induce sneezing, facilitating spontaneous reduction. Suture using mulberry root bark thread intradermally, apply Fengkou Yao (Wound-Sealing Medicine) to the injury site, and externally apply Bujie San (Muscle-Nourishing Powder) mixed with egg white, or alternatively, Sanxue Gao (Blood-Dispersing Ointment) which is superior. Apply Huarushi San (Flower-Stone Powder) along the suture line. For abdominal wall lacerations, use hemp thread or pounded mulberry root bark as suture material, apply Huarushi San (Flower-Stone Powder) along the suture, and must re-suture the abdominal wall from the inside out. Do not merely suture the outer skin; leave the outer skin open and apply medicated powder to promote granulation. If there are small perforations in the intestine, illuminate with a lamp; if gas from the intestine jets toward the flame, the condition is untreatable. Another method: elevate the arm of the patient with eviscerated intestines, administer one to two mouthfuls of vinegar-decocted Shandougen (Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix et Cortex) juice, then prick a needle at the neck to induce spontaneous reduction. For abdominal wall rupture with large holes where intestines and omentum eviscerate, reduce and suture. If the hole is small and only omentum eviscerates, remove the omentum manually without suturing. The eviscerated omentum is useless and should not be returned to the abdomen, as this causes harm; simply remove it, as it is redundant tissue. For internal abdominal injuries, specifically use purgatives to unblock the intestines and bowels; do not wait for constipation, lest it become a critical condition.
