Su Song in the *Yinzhu* commentary states: Making vessels wards off evil; it is an auspicious object. Note: The auspicious object "Yellow Silver" is recorded in the *Tujing*. Silver urns and cinnabar steamers are not man-made. Since they can serve as vessels, they are clearly not auspicious objects. Currently, black silver wards off evil; boiling it, craftsmen use it for vessels, and health cultivators use it as cookware for decocting medicine. Additionally, in courtyards, one meter high, collecting sweet dew at night, pouring it into other vessels, and drinking it promotes longevity. Nowadays, people make black silver by fumigating it with sulfur; after two nights, pouring it out turns the silver black. This is fake, not genuine.
Su Song in the *Xionghuang* commentary states: Commonly known as Yellow Stone. Note on Shihuang: Nowadays, people strike and select bright, pure parts as Xionghuang (Realgar), while the outer black parts are used as Xunhuang (Arsenic Sulfide Ore). It primarily treats malignant sores, kills parasites, fumigates sores, scabies, lice, and is mixed with other drugs for fumigation and gargling. Realgar from Wudu does not smell foul when burned. The middle part of Xunhuang smells foul when burned. Thus, they are distinguished; Su Song's claim that they are commonly named together is incorrect.
