When pathogenic factors bind with blood, the condition is severe. One should follow Tao’s method of using Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction), removing Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) and Da Zao (Jujube Fruit), and adding fresh Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus), Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), or Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu). This aims to cool the blood and dissipate stasis, preventing blood from clashing with heat, thereby allowing for harmonization. This aligns with Tao’s approach. If blood stasis in the affected channel is particularly severe, or if there is a mixture of old traumatic blood stasis acquired through heat, the symptoms must include fullness and pain in the lower abdomen. In mild cases, puncture Qi Men (Liver Front-Mu Point). Qi Men consists of two points located at the lateral end of the second rib, one cun five fen lateral to Bu Rong, directly above the nipples; it is the intersection of the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian, Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian, and Yin Wei Vessel; take the point with arms raised, insert four fen deep, moxa five cones; it is the Front-Mu point of the Liver. This drains excess and promotes qi movement to dissipate stasis. In severe cases, use Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction), removing the sweet herbs Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) and Da Zao (Jujube Fruit), and adding Yan Hu Suo (Corydalis Rhizome), Gui Wei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Tail), and Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) to promote qi flow and break blood stasis. If cold is present, add Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus); if qi stagnation exists, add Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), and Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus). However, syndromes of heat sinking into the Blood Chamber often present with delirious speech resembling madness.
