The mildest injuries are treated with the rolling method (Yun Fa), first administering Guapi San (Melon Peel Powder), followed by the rolling method; next, the fumigation method (Xun Fa) is used. For internal old injuries located within the skin, presenting externally with edema and yellowish discoloration, blood-activating drugs should not be used; one must first administer Guapi San, then apply the fumigation method. It is important to know that old injuries can be treated with fumigation, but new injuries where blood has not yet returned to its vessels should not be fumigated or washed, for fear of attacking the Heart. Heavier injuries are treated with moxibustion (Jiu Fa). For long-standing blood stasis from old injuries, which cannot be cured by medication alone, or when movement is impaired due to pain, or after bone setting where there is fear of toxicity erupting, one must first administer Gupi San, then use moxibustion. The heaviest injuries are treated with the inversion method (Dao Fa). If the patient cannot open their mouth to speak and cannot take medicine, it is necessary to make the patient vomit foul matter; first administer Liuxie San (Sulfur and Musk Powder), then perform the inversion. Two people perform the inversion: the patient lies on a quilt, or four people or two adults pull the corners of the quilt from both sides, rolling left and right to keep the position changing, naturally causing the expulsion of blood stasis and foul matter; otherwise, it cannot be treated.
Bran (1 sheng), Old wall mud (0.5 sheng), Wine pills (10 pills), White scallions (with roots, 1 bunch), Cyperi Rhizoma (Xiangfu, 2 liang, stir-fried with vinegar). Stir-fry the above five ingredients in a pot, or heat them in a copper spoon and spray with She Cu (She Vinegar), wrap in cloth, and roll over the affected area; reheat and roll when cool.
Vitex trifolia L. (Luodeda Cao, 0.5 jin), Dried wheat stalks (Chen Xiaomai Chai, 1 large bunch), Artemisia argyi Leaves (Ai Ye, a small amount). Throw these three ingredients into a pot, decoct thoroughly with river water until boiling, pour into a small-mouthed jar, place a board on top, and have the patient sit over the anus to fumigate. Sweat will flow like rain; do not fear the hot steam rising upwards. As long as sweating continues while the body moves, if sweating is not thorough, the root of the disease will ultimately be difficult to eliminate. If hands or feet joints are dislocated, pour the decoction into a jar, immerse the limbs, wrap the jar mouth with cotton wadding to prevent heat loss.
Use raw charcoal to burn a patch of ground red-hot, spray well with She Cu (She Vinegar), immediately spread a little rice straw on it, use a single quilt as a mat, let the patient lie on it, cover with thick quilts to keep warm until sweating flows like rain, then administer Shengjin Dan (Victory Golden Pill) three or four doses, and the injury will dissipate without worry.
