(图片:G-G86.bmp)

These two acupoints are specifically indicated for treating carbuncles, malignant sores, back abscesses and boils, scrofula, various wind diseases, and all other conditions. First, starting from the transverse crease of the wrist on the left side for males or the right side for females, use a thin bamboo strip to measure up to the point where the flesh ends at the middle finger (excluding the nail), then cut it off. Next, using this same strip, measure one *cun* (body-inch) according to the patient's own proportions. Then, have the patient remove their clothes and stand upright. Place one end of the bamboo strip against the coccyx and measure along the spine to the end of the strip, marking this point with a pen. Subsequently, take another bamboo strip representing one body-inch (*tongshen cun*), and mark the points one *cun* lateral to this mark on both sides; these are the acupoints. Moxibustion is applied with seven moxa cones.
This is the moxibustion method of Yang. According to the *Shenying Jing*: If lifting with poles by two people is unstable, two wooden stools should be used to support the ends of the bamboo pole, allowing the patient's feet to lightly touch the ground, employing the "Riding Bamboo Horse" moxibustion acupoint method. (From *Zhenjiu Juying*)
The *Zisheng Jing* states: For individuals suffering from chronic overwork, symptoms include heat in the palms and soles, night sweats, mental fatigue, bone and joint pain with aversion to cold, initial cough progressing to expectoration of pus and blood, emaciation, sallow complexion, reduced appetite, and weakness. To locate the point, keep the body upright. Use a grass stem to measure from the tip of the middle finger of the left hand in males or the right hand in females, passing under the sole of the foot, upwards to the large crease of the popliteal fossa (crural fold), and cut the stem. Then, using this grass stem, measure from the tip of the nose, parting the hair along the midline of the head backwards to the spine, and mark the end of the stem with ink. Take another grass stem, have the patient close their mouth naturally, measure the width of the mouth, and cut it. Fold this grass stem in half at the ink mark; the ends indicate the location of the acupoint. During moxibustion, add one cone based on age. For example, a thirty-year-old receives thirty-one cones, with repeated efficacy.
According to this description, the point corresponds to the Heart Shu (Xinshu, BL15) acupoints, located 1.5 *cun* lateral to the fifth thoracic vertebra. The Heart governs blood, hence moxibustion is applied here.
Stand on level ground. Measure approximately to the umbilicus with a staff. Then, using this same staff, measure on the dorsal spinal column to find the level corresponding to the umbilicus. Mark the points 1.5 *cun* lateral to the midline on both sides; these are the Kidney Shu (Shenshu, BL23) acupoints.
First, take a long grass stem and compare it starting from the transverse crease at the base of the thumb on the palm of the left hand in males or the right hand in females, measuring to the inner edge of the fingernail, and mark with ink. Repeat this measurement for the index, middle, ring, and little fingers. Add one body-inch (*tongshen cun*) to determine the length. Take another stalk of grass, matching the length previously measured plus the additional inch, and tie a knot. Have the patient sit upright and remove clothing. Separate the grass stems and place them across the neck, pressing firmly with fingers. Position the knot on the suprasternal notch (Tiantu, CV22). Let the two strands hang down towards the back. Align the two strands and mark the point where they reach the end of the spinal column; this is the acupoint. Moxibustion with seven cones is effective.
