Treatment for white patches (Bai Bo) on the neck, nape, and head/face, which spread gradually like tinea but without ulceration.
Apply the fat from dried eel to the affected area. First, wash and wipe the white patches, then pat or scrape them with the hand until they feel rough and painful and become dry. Subsequently, apply the eel fat. One application leads to cure; difficult cases require no more than three applications. (From *Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 15)

Calcined Rhizoma Veratri Albi (*Veratri Radix et Rhizoma*) ash (5 sheng), Calcined Ginger (*Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens*) ash (5 sheng), Calcined Alum (*Alumen*) (2.5 sheng).
Mix the above three ingredients evenly. Steam until vapor penetrates thoroughly. Collect one dou of liquid from the bottom of the steamer. Filter the juice and boil it in an iron vessel until reduced by half. Continue boiling with high heat while stirring with a chicken feather until the medicine naturally breaks (indicating proper concentration). To remove melanotic spots and skin tags, first slightly injure the epidermis just enough to break the skin, then apply the medicine as a spot treatment. This formula is named "San Hui Jian" (Three Ash Decoction).
