味苦甘，性平有毒，不载经络。主杀精魅鬼邪，蛇虺蛊毒，山岗瘴毒，恶疮死肌，疥癣
虫，百节中风，鼻中息肉，中恶腹痛。佩带之，鬼神不敢近，诸毒不能伤，胎妇辅女成男。
解藜芦毒，大块透明中无砂石者佳，研细，水飞用。
按∶雄黄或以为黄金之苗，今有金窟处无雄黄，则斯言未足深信。夫孕妇佩之能转女胎
为男，言若不经，然里中试之者往往获验，则有夺造化之功，非禀太阳之精，恶能臻此。杀
蛊辟邪，宜其效矣。中其毒者，以防己解之。
雷公云∶凡使勿用黑鸡黄，自死黄，夹腻黄，其臭似雄黄，只是臭不堪用，时人以醋洗
之，三两度，便无臭气，勿误用也。次有夹腻黄，亦似雄黄，其内一重黄，一重石，不堪用。
次有黑鸡黄，亦似雄黄，如乌鸡头上冠也。凡使要似鹧鸪鸟肝色为上。凡修事，先以甘草、
紫背天葵、地胆、碧棱花四件，并细锉，每件各五两，雄黄三两，东流水入瓦锅中煮，三伏
时，方漉出，捣如粉。水飞澄去黑者，晒干再研，方入药用。其内有劫铁石，又号赴矢黄，
能劫子铁。并不入药用。
味甘辛，性温无毒，入心经。主咳逆邪气，宁心定惊，补不足，涂肿毒，又主妇人子户
风寒，十年无孕。长石为使，畏扁青、附子、恶黄连、 甲、麦句姜。
按∶紫石英为镇重之剂，又有紫赤色，心经之所由入也，心主血，妇人得之，则血受温
补而胎可结矣。
【雄黄】
味道苦、甘，性质平和，有毒，未记载归经。主要功效是杀死精魅鬼邪，治疗蛇虺蛊毒、山岗瘴气毒、恶疮死肌、疥癣虫症、全身关节中风、鼻中息肉以及中恶腹痛。佩戴它可以使鬼神不敢靠近，诸毒不能伤害，孕妇佩戴可使女子怀上男胎。能解藜芦之毒。以大块透明且无砂石者为佳，研成细粉，用水飞法处理使用。
按语：有人认为雄黄是黄金的幼苗，但现在有金矿的地方并没有雄黄，所以这种说法不足以深信。说孕妇佩戴它能将女胎转为男胎，听起来似乎不合常理，然而乡里间尝试过的人往往获得验证，这说明它有夺造化之功，如果不是禀受太阳之精气，怎么能达到这种效果呢？杀灭蛊毒、辟除邪气，确实应该有效。中毒者，可以用防己来解毒。
雷公说：凡是使用雄黄，不要使用黑鸡黄、自死黄、夹腻黄，这些气味像雄黄，只是臭味难闻无法使用，现代人用醋清洗它们，洗三两次，就没有臭味了，不要误用。其次有夹腻黄，也像雄黄，里面一层黄，一层石，无法使用。其次有黑鸡黄，也像雄黄，像乌鸡头上的冠一样。凡是使用，以颜色像鹧鸪鸟肝脏颜色的为上乘。凡是炮制加工，先用甘草、紫背天葵、地胆、碧棱花四味药，都切成细段，每味各五两，雄黄三两，加入东流水放入瓦锅中煮，在三伏天时，才捞出来，捣成粉末。用水飞法澄清去掉黑色的杂质，晒干后再研磨，才入药使用。其中含有劫铁石的，又号称赴矢黄，能腐蚀铁器。都不入药用。
【紫石英】
味道甘、辛，性质温和，无毒，入心经。主要功效是治疗咳逆邪气，宁心安神定惊，补益不足，涂抹肿毒，又主治妇人子宫风寒，十年不孕。以长石为使药，畏扁青、附子，恶黄连、龟甲、麦句姜。
[Realgar]
Taste: Bitter, Sweet. Nature: Neutral, Toxic. Meridian Tropism: Not recorded.
Main indications: Kills spirits and evil influences; treats snakebite, venomous insect bites, gu poison, mountain miasma toxicity, malignant sores with necrotic tissue, scabies, tinea, parasitic infections, wind-stroke affecting all joints, nasal polyps, and acute abdominal pain due to evil invasion. Wearing it prevents spirits from approaching and protects against various toxins. For pregnant women, wearing it is believed to facilitate conception of a male fetus. It resolves Lili Rhizome (Lilii Bulbus) toxicity. The best quality consists of large, transparent pieces free of sand and gravel. It should be ground into fine powder and processed by water levigation (Shuifei) for use.
Commentary: Some consider Realgar the "sprout" of gold. However, since Realgar is not found in places where gold mines exist, this claim is not entirely credible. The statement that pregnant women wearing it can change a female fetus to a male seems extraordinary, yet trials in local communities often yield positive results. This suggests it possesses the power to alter nature's course. If it did not inherit the essence of the Taiyang (Greater Yang), how could it achieve such effects? Its efficacy in killing gu poison and dispelling evil is indeed appropriate. Poisoning caused by Realgar can be resolved using Stephania Root (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix).
Lei Gong states: When processing Realgar, do not use Black Chicken Yellow (Heiji Huang), Self-Dead Yellow (Zisi Huang), or Mottled Yellow (Jiani Huang). These resemble Realgar but have an unbearable odor and are unusable. People today wash them with vinegar two or three times to remove the odor, but one must not mistake them for genuine Realgar. Secondly, there is Mottled Yellow, which also resembles Realgar but has alternating layers of yellow substance and stone, making it unusable. Thirdly, there is Black Chicken Yellow, which resembles Realgar and looks like the comb of a black chicken. The best quality resembles the color of a partridge's liver.
For processing: First, take Licorice Root (Gancao), Purple-backed Heaven Hemp Vine (Zibei Tiankui), Groundcherry Herb (Dichang), and Bi Leng Hua, four herbs. Cut them finely, five liang each. Add three liang of Realgar. Boil in earthenware pots with flowing water from the east. During the Sanfu days (the hottest period of summer), retrieve the material, pound it into powder. Use water levigation to clarify and remove black impurities, dry it, grind it again, and then it is ready for medicinal use. There is also Iron-Capturing Stone (Jie Tieshi), also known as Arrow-Chasing Yellow (Fushi Huang), which can corrode iron. These are not used medicinally.
[Fluorspar, Purified]
Taste: Sweet, Pungent. Nature: Warm, Non-toxic. Meridian Tropism: Heart Meridian.
Main indications: Treats cough with rebellious qi and evil pathogens; calms the mind and settles fright; tonifies deficiency; applies topically to swellings and toxins. It also treats cold-wind invading the uterus in women, leading to infertility for ten years.
Guiding herb: Changshi (Long Stone/Changshi).
Incompatibilities: Dreads Bianqing, Aconite Root (Fuzi); opposes Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian), Turtle Shell (Guijia), and Maijujiang.
Commentary: Fluorspar is a heavy sedative agent. Its purple-red color indicates its affinity for the Heart Meridian. Since the Heart governs blood, when women take it, the blood receives warm tonification, allowing the fetal foundation to form.
