雷公云∶凡使，勿令使苍冥子，其形相似，只是服无效，时人多用杂之。其苍冥子色微
赤。
若修事十两，以头醋一镒，煮尽醋为度，却，用黄牛乳汁浸一宿，至明，看牛乳汁黑，
即是莨菪子，大毒，晒干，别捣，重筛用。
勿误服，冲人心，大烦闷，眼生暹火。
雷公云∶凡使，唯中为妙，到膝即仰，到腰即俯。使子，勿使叶；使根，勿使茎
；四件若同使，翻然成痼疾。
凡采得叶，不计多少，用七岁儿童七个溺，浸七日七夜后，漉出，晒干用之。
雷公云∶凡采得后，去裹花蕊壳皮并蒂子，取花蕊，蒸，从巳至午，晒干用。
雷公云∶凡采得，去头，用糯米泔汁煮，从巳至未，出，晒干用之。
雷公云∶凡使，勿用地精，苗茎与钩吻同。其钩吻，治人身上恶毒疮，效。其地精，煞
人。
凡修事，采得后，细锉，捣了研，绞取自然汁，入膏中用，勿误饵之。
雷公云∶凡使，先以米泔水浸一宿，漉出。然后用 竹叶煮，从午至亥，漉出，日干
用之。
雷公云∶凡使，勿用有 尖叶者，号竟命草，其味别空，只酸涩，不入用。若误服之，
吐血不止，速服知时子解之。
凡修事，采得后，去根茎，只取叶，细切，晒干。
勿令犯火。
雷公云∶凡使，春使根、叶，夏、秋、冬一时用。
凡欲使，酒浸一宿，至明漉出，日干，熬捣，少用。
勿令老人、久病服之，切忌也。
雷公说：凡是使用这种药材，不要让苍冥子混入其中，因为它们的形状相似，只是服用后没有疗效，现在的人经常将它们混杂在一起。苍冥子的颜色微红。
如果准备修治十两，用一镒头醋，煮到醋完全被吸收为止，然后取出，用黄牛乳汁浸泡一夜，直到天亮，观察牛乳汁变黑，这才是莨菪子（茄科植物颠茄的种子），有大毒，晒干后单独捣碎，过细筛备用。
不要误服，否则会冲击心脏，导致极度烦闷，眼睛出现火光般的症状。
雷公说：凡是使用，以中间部分为妙，（植株）长到膝盖高就向上仰，长到腰部就向下俯。使用种子，不要使用叶子；使用根部，不要使用茎；这四部分如果一起使用，反而会变成顽固难愈的疾病。
凡是采集到的叶子，不论多少，用七个七岁儿童的尿液，浸泡七天七夜后，滤出，晒干后使用。
雷公说：凡是采集后，去掉包裹花蕊的壳皮和蒂部，取花蕊，蒸制，从巳时到午时，晒干后使用。
雷公说：凡是采集后，去掉头部，用糯米淘米水煮沸，从巳时到未时，取出，晒干后使用。
雷公说：凡是使用，不要用“地精”，其苗茎与钩吻（Gelsemium elegans，断肠草）相同。钩吻能治疗人身上的恶毒疮疡，有效。而地精会致人死亡。
凡是修治，采集后，细细切碎，捣碎研磨，绞取自然汁液，加入膏剂中使用，切勿误食。
雷公说：凡是使用，先用米泔水浸泡一夜，滤出。然后用竹叶煮，从午时到亥时，滤出，日晒干燥后使用。

雷公说：凡是使用，春天使用根、叶，夏、秋、冬三季同时使用。
凡是想要使用，用酒浸泡一夜，直到天亮滤出，日晒干燥，熬制捣碎，少量使用。
不要让老人、久病之人服用，这是极其忌讳的。
Lei Gong said: When using this herb, do not allow Cangmingzi (Cangming Seed) to be mixed in, as their shapes are similar, but they are ineffective when taken. People often mix them together nowadays. Cangmingzi has a slightly reddish color.
If preparing ten taels for processing, boil with one yi of the first-run vinegar until the vinegar is completely consumed. Then remove and soak in yellow cattle milk overnight. By morning, if the cattle milk turns black, it indicates genuine Langdangzi (Datura Seed), which is highly toxic. Dry it in the sun, pound separately, sift finely, and set aside.
Do not take it by mistake; it will strike the heart, causing severe restlessness and visual disturbances resembling fire sparks in the eyes.
Lei Gong said: When using, the middle part is best; when the plant reaches knee height, it grows upward, and at waist height, it bends downward. Use the seed, not the leaf; use the root, not the stem. If all four parts are used together, it may lead to chronic, incurable diseases.
For any collected leaves, regardless of quantity, soak them in the urine of seven seven-year-old children for seven days and nights. Then drain, dry in the sun, and use.
Lei Gong said: After collection, remove the husk and calyx surrounding the stamen. Take the stamens, steam them from Si hour (09:00-11:00) to Wu hour (11:00-13:00), dry in the sun, and use.
Lei Gong said: After collection, remove the head. Boil in rice washing water from Si hour (09:00-11:00) to Wei hour (13:00-15:00). Remove, dry in the sun, and use.
Lei Gong said: Do not use "Dijing" (Earth Essence), as its stems and leaves resemble Gouwen (Gelsemium elegra, Heartbreak Grass). Gouwen is effective in treating malignant sores on the body, whereas Dijing is lethal.
For processing, after collection, cut finely, pound and grind, then press to extract natural juice. Add to ointments for use. Do not ingest by mistake.
Lei Gong said: First, soak in rice washing water overnight, then drain. Subsequently, boil with bamboo leaves from Wu hour (11:00-13:00) to Hai hour (21:00-23:00). Drain, dry in the sun, and use.
Lei Gong said: Do not use varieties with pointed leaves, known as Jingmingcao (Life-Ending Grass). Its taste is distinct and hollow, merely sour and astringent, and unsuitable for medicinal use. If taken by mistake, it causes continuous hematemesis; quickly consume Zhizhizi (Buddleja Seed or similar antidote) to counteract it.
For processing, after collection, remove roots and stems, taking only the leaves. Cut finely, dry in the sun. Avoid exposure to fire.
Lei Gong said: In spring, use roots and leaves; in summer, autumn, and winter, use them simultaneously.
To prepare for use, soak in wine overnight. Drain by morning, dry in the sun, simmer, and pound. Use in small amounts.
It is strictly forbidden for the elderly and those with chronic illnesses to take this herb.
