Lactuca sativa (specifically the leaves, also known as lettuce greens) is crushed to extract juice for drinking, which immediately resolves the toxicity.
Another prescription: Treat according to the preceding "Decoction for Resolving Various Toxins" (Jie Bai Du Fang); it is extremely effective.
This creature is also known as Shuizhi (Leech). Once ingested into the abdomen, it will eventually reproduce and breed offspring, consuming the liver blood, causing unbearable abdominal pain, yellowish and emaciated complexion; without treatment, it leads to death. Use Guiyuan Rou (Longan Aril) (or Lychee flesh), or Bao Yanyou (Tobacco Tar from pipe liners) (refer to the section on resolving snake venom for details on tobacco tar), swallow them whole. The leeches will die and be expelled with the stool; this has been tested repeatedly with miraculous results.
Another prescription: Consume Baimi (White Honey) frequently until one or two jin (approx. 500-1000g) are consumed for recovery. Leeches (Mahuang, *Hirudo nipponica*) revived by fire powder reactivate upon contact with water, but dissolve into liquid when soaked in honey. Therefore, taking honey is best, with larger amounts being superior; small amounts are ineffective. If honey fails, eating mutton can resolve it. Skeptics may verify this by placing a leech inside mutton, where it dissolves into liquid. However, individuals with deficiency constitution should not consume large amounts of white honey; the first prescription is more ingenious.
Another prescription: Take Liangzhong Ni (Field Mud/Clay) 1 liang (approx. 37.5g) and Xionghuang (Realgar), 2 qian (approx. 7.5g), form into pills, divide into four doses, and take with warm water. The worms mix with the mud and are expelled via stool. Occasionally, leeches may crawl into the nostrils, causing unceasing bleeding. Placing a bowl of mud-water near the nostrils will cause the worm to descend into the mud.
Another prescription: Take several live small fish, 2 liang (approx. 75g) of Zhubanyou (Pork Subcutaneous Fat), and add Huangni (Yellow Clay), crush together into pills, and take with cool water. The leeches will be expelled along with the mud.
Another prescription: Mix Qingdian (Indigo Naturalis) with water and drink; the parasites will be purged out.
Another prescription: Chao Luoli (Stir-fried *Artemisia argyi* / Mugwort-like weed) ground into powder, taken mixed with water at a dose of 1 qian (approx. 3.75g); it will induce vomiting.
Huaihua (Sophora Flower) (lightly stir-fried) and Gan Yanzhi (Dried Madder Root Powder) in equal parts are crushed into powder, mixed with cold water, and taken orally; it is extremely effective.
Another prescription: Consume many Ganlan (Olive fruits). Also, grind Ganlan He (Olive pits) with water and drink; it is extremely effective.
Another prescription: Drink Zhen Mayou (Pure Sesame Oil) one or two cups; it is also effective.
Another prescription: Follow the method of the preceding "Decoction for Resolving Various Toxins". If thirst persists, drink a small cup of water from a latrine pit; repeated doses will stop the thirst.
Fish heads that have white spots extending like beads to the spine, lacking gills and gallbladders, are toxic.
Zisu (Perilla Leaf): Decoct into a strong liquid, cool, and drink; it is extremely effective, with larger amounts being better.
Another prescription: Consume many Ganlan (Olives, also known as Qingguo). Grind Ganlan He (Olive pits) with water and drink; it is most effective.
Another prescription: Crush fresh Donggua (Winter Melon) to extract juice and drink.
Another prescription: Burn Yulin (Fish Scales) to ash, mix with cold water, and take 2 qian (approx. 7.5g).
Another prescription: For those suffering from abdominal distension and yellowish complexion due to excessive fish consumption, use Hongqu (Red Yeast Rice) 3 he (approx. 112.5ml volume), boil until soft, and consume with the residue. The toxins will be expelled via stool with an unbearable odor; continuous administration for three times will cure the condition.
