Yi Shan Guo Hai San (Mountain-Transferring Sea-Crossing Powder): Treats toxic pathogens arising in fatal or critical areas. Using this method to transfer the toxicity to harmless sites is highly effective. Take Xionghuang (Realgar), Xiaomai Mian (Wheat Flour), and fresh Qiuyin (Earthworm, dried), grind them together into a fine powder, mix evenly with good vinegar, and gradually apply it to one half of the fatal site. The toxin will naturally be transferred to a non-fatal site.
Yi Du San (Toxin-Transferring Powder): Whenever a toxin erupts between bone joints, use this medicine to transfer it, either upward or downward, to avoid the risk of physiological disability. It has been tested repeatedly with consistent success. Take Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome) 1 liang 6 qian, Zihua Diding (Viola Yedoensis Herb) 8 qian, Wugu Ji Nei Jin (Gallbladder of Domestic Fowl, Black-bone Chicken type), Zhusha (Cinnabar), Xionghuang (Realgar), and Qingfen (Calomel) each 1 qian, Wubeizi (Chinese Gallnut) 2 qian (roasted until yellow), and Dahuang (Rhubarb Root)... [Note: Original text appears fragmented here regarding administration].
Gan Du San (Toxin-Expelling Powder, also known as Chonghe San): For diffuse swelling without a head on the inner and outer thighs and around the knees where the skin color remains unchanged, accompanied by slight soreness, pain, and spasms, lift and transfer the toxin to other areas for expulsion. Even if fistulas or sinuses have already formed, gradual healing can still be achieved. This prescription is comparable in efficacy to Yi Du San and has proven effective in repeated use. Take Zijing Pi (Broussonetia Bark) 5 liang (stir-fried), Chi Ai (Artemisia Argyi Leaf, red variety) 2 liang (stir-fried), Xiang Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root) 1 liang (sun-dried, strictly avoid fire-roasting), Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root) 1.5 liang (stripped-fried), and Shichangpu (Acorus Tatarinowii Rhizome) 1.5 liang (sun-dried)... [Note: Original text fragment ends here].
Ge Pi Qu Nong Fa (Method of Extracting Pus Through the Skin): When suffering from swollen carbuncles that have not yet ruptured, causing unbearable pain, and where surgical incision is difficult or feared by the patient, wait until the pus is mature. Take Lv Ti Pi (Donkey Hoof Skin) 1 liang (scraped from the sole, stir-fried with sand), Qiaomai Mian (Buckwheat Flour) 1 liang, and Caowu (Aconitum Kusnezoffii Root) 4 qian (peeled and ground). Grind together into a powder and mix evenly... [Note: Application method is implied but truncated in source].
Another Prescription: Use Gong Laoshu Fen (Male Rat Feces, identified by pointed ends at both tips), mash it with Hongtang (Brown Sugar), and apply externally. It will rupture the abscess, discharge pus, and heal; it is extremely effective.
Another Prescription: Take one Can E Jian (Silkworm Cocoon, specifically those from which moths have already emerged), burn it to ash while retaining its properties, mix with wine, and take orally. The carbuncle head will naturally rupture. Do not use too much; using two or three cocoons may cause two or three new sores to form. Additionally, Hong Gaoyao (Red Plaster), Daigao San (Knife-Replacing Powder), and Yaotou Gao (Head-Biting Ointment) (all see under formulas for Carbuncles and Toxins) are also effective.
Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (refer to *Yaowu Beiyao* for drug properties), burnt until crisp and ground into powder, mixed with oil for topical application, is extremely effective. This is recorded in Sun Simiao’s *Qianjin Fang*.
Another Prescription: Drinking a large cup of Zhen Mayou (True Sesame Oil) is excellent; Zhen Caizi You (True Rapeseed Oil) is even better. Alternatively, take Huangqin (Scutellaria Root) 1-2 qian (stir-fried with wine), decoct in water, and drink.
