Ten *Eupolyphaga sinensis* (Dibiechong, 地鳖虫) roasted in wine, ten earthworms (Qiuyin, 蚯蚓) dried and powdered, one piece of Pyritum (Ziran Tong, 自然铜) calcined seven times in vinegar, Resina Commiphorae (Ruxiang, 乳香) defatted, and Resina Myrrhae (Moyao, 没药) defatted. Take as directed for recovery; if the injury is severe, drink a bowl of child's urine first to resolve blood stasis.
Black carp head, charred on a yin-yang tile, ground into powder. Take two or three qian each time, mixed with rock sugar and hot wine.
For comminuted fractures: five fen of Gardenia jasminoides fruit (Zhizi, 栀子) raw and powdered, three qian of fine wheat flour. Mix the above herbs with ginger juice and apply to the affected area. The skin and flesh will turn blue-black after one day and night.
For wounds that have been broken and failed to heal for a long time, stiffness of the dorsum of the hand, and trismus (lockjaw): one liang of Rhizoma Arisaematis cum Bile (Nanxing, 南星) processed with ginger juice, one liang of Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng, 防风), and five qian of Periostracum Cicadae (Chantui, 蝉蜕). Grind into fine powder. Take three qian each time, mixed with a bowl of boiling yellow wine. Then eat three or four raw green onions, cover the head with a blanket to induce sweating, and avoid distilled spirits. For severe cases, add one liang of Fish Swim Bladder (Yubiao, 鱼鳔) stir-fried until carbonized, ground into powder. Take three qian each time, washed down with yellow wine; the wind pathogen will naturally recede.
For any beating injuries where the wound is broken and exposed to wind pathogen within the hundred-day legal liability period, drink this prescription immediately. Five qian each of Schizonepeta spike (Jingjie, 荆芥), Yellow Beeswax (Huangla, 黄蜡), and Fish Swim Bladder (Yubiao, 鱼鳔) fried yellow; three qian of Mugwort leaf (Aiye, 艾叶). Decoct the above herbs in one bowl of pure wine without ash and take orally. Recovery occurs upon sweating.
For treating contusions, sprains of the waist, abdomen, limbs, and all types of stagnant qi, this formula promotes dispersion. When qi moves, blood stasis does not accumulate to cause harm. In severe cases, take three to four doses; it has proven effective like magic. Six qian of Cyperi Rhizoma (Xiangfu, 香附) de-haired and boiled in wine, four qian of Perilla leaf (Zisu, 紫苏), three qian of Curcuma zedoaria rhizome (Taiwu, 台乌), three qian of Tangerine peel (Chenpi, 陈皮), three qian of Ligusticum chuanxiong rhizome (Chuanxiong, 川芎), and three qian of Angelica sinensis root (Danggui, 当归)... To extract arrowheads or other foreign bodies, taking this medicine prevents pain. Three qian each of Ephedra stem (Mahuang, 麻黄), Solanum melongena fruit (Huqiezi, 胡茄子), Turmeric rhizome (Jianghuang, 姜黄), Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root (Chuanwu, 川乌), and Aconitum kusnezoffii root (Caowu, 草乌); use double the amount of Datura metel flower (Naoyanghua, 闹羊花). Grind these six ingredients into fine powder. Take five fen each time, taken with tea. To reverse the effects, take Licorice decoction (Gancao Tang, 甘草汤) for immediate revival.
Another prescription: Grind Jasmine root (Molihua Gen, 茉莉花根) to extract juice and ingest. If one inch is ingested, unconsciousness lasts one day; if two inches, two days. Revive using salt water solution, or vinegar-infused water solution also works.
