Early bathing allows water qi to stagnate in the couli (skin texture and pores). Dry tinea and wet sores arise from this. Do not say it is a minor illness that causes no harm; worry only that it may persist for a lifetime with unceasing sores.
Failure to observe taboos and early exposure to wind leads to generalized itching as if bitten by ants or fleas. This syndrome is not caused by early bathing but by early wind exposure; it should be treated with Xiaofeng San (Wind-Dispersing Powder) to disperse and resolve, and the itching will be swept away.
Sores and tinea often appear after the resolution of measles. This is all due to bathing too early with raw water, causing water flow to accumulate in the muscle couli and manifest. Therefore, bathing after measles must wait until after one month, to prevent the occurrence of sores. If this condition occurs, immediately wash with a decoction of Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Jingjie (Schizonepeta Spike), and Aye (Mugwort Leaf). Alternatively, use four liang of Kushen (Sophora Root) and two liang of Shichangpu (Acorus Rhizome) boiled in water. When washing, add two or three pig gallbladders to the water. Or wash with a decoction of Qiangfeng Aiye (Wall Fern Mugwort), Fengshuye (Maple Leaf), Ganziye (Citrus Peel Leaf), and Hong Fuping (Red Duckweed). Do not use raw water for washing, nor use herbal fumigation/washing formulas for treating sores, lest the toxin be closed and enter the interior, causing other complications, which would be harmful. However, if not treated early, it will inevitably recur every year during the month corresponding to the initial rash onset. Although considered a minor illness, caution is required. If sores persist after measles, this is due to residual heat not yet exhausted. It is appropriate to use Lianqiao Shengdihuang Tang (Forsythia and Rehmannia Decoction) or Shengdi Huadu Jian (Rehmannia Detoxification Decoction) along with Huma Wan (Sesame Pill), adding Heshouwu (Polygonum Multiflorum Root), Ciji Li (Tribulus Fruit), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica Root), Bohe (Mint Leaf), etc., decocted and taken orally. Or treat with Kushen Tang (Sophora Decoction). If residual toxins from measles remain unresolved and transform into carbuncles, ulcers, or boils, treat with Jiedu Tang (Detoxification Decoction) added with Fangfeng, Jingjie, and Niubangzi (Arctium Fruit). Alternatively, use Chen Shi Kushen Wan (Chen's Sophora Pill) or Jingfang Baidu San (Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Decoction to Overcome Toxins - see Item 2) removing Renshen (Ginseng Root), and adding Lianqiao (Forsythia Fruit) and Jinyinhua (Honeysuckle Flower). If the sores resemble leprosy, treat primarily with Huma San (Sesame Powder). If pus and fluid drip continuously, treat primarily with Qianghuo Danggui San (Notopterygium and Angelica Sinensis Powder). If generalized itching occurs after measles resolution, this is not comparable to early bathing; it is caused by excessive early wind exposure. Disperse and resolve it with Xiaofeng San, and the symptoms will heal. If skin itching is unbearable, treat with Erwei Xiaofeng San (Two-Ingredient Wind-Dispersing Powder).

Grind into powder, mix with honey to form pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take 30-40 pills after meals, delivered with tea or wine. Take three times daily.
Huma San (Sesame Powder): Treats wind-heat urticaria itching, and also treats leprosy-like conditions.
Ingredients: Humaren (1 liang), Kushen, Jingjie, Heshouwu (0.8 fen each), Fangfeng, Weilingxian, Shichangpu, Niubangzi (stir-fried), Baijuhua, Manjingzi, Baijili (0.6 qian each). Grind into powder. After meals, take with a decoction of Boheye, or with tea.

Ingredients: Chuanxiong, Qianghuo, Fangfeng, Jingjiesui, Huoxiangye, Renshen, Chi Fuling, Jiangcan (1 qian each), Chenpi, Nongpo (stir-fried with ginger juice), Zhigancao (0.5 fen each), Chantui (1 qian).
Alternative formula: Without Huoxiang, with Bohe. Decoct in water and take. For chronic headache and eye opacity, take three times daily. The subtle utility of this formula lies entirely in Nongpo and Renshen. One must know that diseases of the muscle surface all originate from the stomach; thus, Nongpo is used to clear the interior, and Renshen assists the wind-dispersing herbs to resolve wind-heat on the exterior. Only then can Qianghuo, Fangfeng, Jingjie, etc., exert their efficacy.
Erwei Xiaofeng San (Two-Ingredient Wind-Dispersing Powder): Treats unbearable skin itching.
Ingredients: Boheye, Bei Chantui (heads, feet, and soil removed, stir-fried). Grind into powder. Take with wine far from meals.
