Luoli (cervical lymph node tuberculosis) occurs behind the ears and in the neck, also known as Jiuzi Yong (Nine-Child Abscess) or Laoshu Lou (Rat Fistula), but essentially all are Luoli. It mostly originates from the Shaoyang channel. This is because the Shaoyang channel has abundant Qi and scarce Blood. It arises from excessive desires, rich alcoholic beverages, mental overwork, unfulfilled aspirations, external pathogenic factors, internal stagnation of the Seven Emotions, injury to the Six Desires, infection, or mis-treatment. Although the causes vary, they all converge into Phlegm. In men, this condition presents with frequent tidal fever; in women, it leads to irregular menstruation, gradually becoming an incurable disease. Initially, one may see three or four nodules behind the ears or in the neck, resembling a string of pearls. At the onset, moxibustion should be applied to each nodule, 8-9 moxa cones per nodule, or more than ten. Additionally, apply 3-5 moxa cones each to the Jianjing (GB21), Feishu (BL13), Fengchi (GB20), and Qumen (CV22) acupoints. This truly has the miraculous effect of bringing the dead back to life. Subsequently, taking herbs that resolve Phlegm and descend Fire can achieve complete success without much effort. Often, people frequently use caustic medicines, even resorting to cutting and gouging, which leads to their own demise; how regrettable! Patients must clear the mind, nourish their nature, eat bland foods, and regulate their diet to ensure recovery. Practitioners treating this condition should exert themselves fully to prevent premature death. Wanling Gao (Miraculous Spirit Plaster) clears the muscles, detoxifies, promotes flesh growth, and regenerates tissue, making it a sacred medicine. Once ulcerated, draining pus completely and promoting tissue regeneration while detoxifying constitutes a divine prescription. These two are essential symptomatic treatments.
