夫压死折伤,唯礼法君子,守岩墙垂堂之戒,固无是事。然安车良马,时有跌足奔轮;
To treat sudden death from nightmare (Yanmei), or compression by walls, bamboo, wood, drowning, metallic wounds (Jinchuang), leading to sudden syncope; postpartum evil blood rushing to the heart, and various acute closure syndromes.
Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (Wash seven times with boiling water to remove slipperiness, quantity as needed).
Grind the above into powder. Take an amount the size of a soybean, blow it into the nose, and life will be restored. As long as the heart region remains warm, treatment is possible within one day.
Mudan San (Peony Powder)
To treat postpartum blood syncope, where the patient is in a state of fainting and distress. If the jaw is clenched, pry it open and administer the medicine; it will be effective. (Formula see Women's Department)
Slowly untie the binding, do not cut the rope. Place bedding above and below for them to lie on. One person steps on both shoulders with their feet, while gently pulling the hair, maintaining tension without letting go. Another person presses on the upper chest with their hand, moving it up and down repeatedly. A third person rubs the arms and shins, flexing and extending them. If the body has become rigid, gradually bend it, and simultaneously press/massage the abdomen. After the time it takes to cook a meal, breath will exit the mouth, respiration returns, and eyes open. Continue holding and pressing, do not release immediately, and do not exhaust the patient. After a short while, offer a small amount of Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) or clear rice gruel to hold in the mouth, moistening the throat. Once swallowing becomes possible, stop temporarily. Additionally, have two people blow air into the ears using tubes; this is best. This method is most excellent, with no cases of failure. From dawn to dusk, even if cold, rescue is possible; from dusk to dawn, it is slightly more difficult.
Place the deceased properly. Cover the mouth, nose, and eyes with a sleeve. After the time it takes to eat one meal, if they revive and open their eyes, still administer hot urine. If just detected as having ceased breathing but unable to speak, urgently pry the mouth open and灌 (irrigate/administer) hot urine. For those stunned by beating or crushing, use this method as well.
Regarding death by crushing or fracture, only gentlemen who observe propriety and law, heeding warnings against leaning on precarious walls or standing under eaves, would avoid such incidents. However, even in safe carriages and good horses, foot injuries and wheel overturns occur; walking on stone paths near streams, one cannot avoid accidents like floating boats or falling tiles. Moreover, merchants, hunters, and fishermen, having experienced much, face even greater unpredictability; plus harm from enemies, violent robbery, beatings, and metallic wounds all lead to unjust premature death. Treatment must be urgent.
Jimeng San (Chicken Crowing Powder)
To treat falls from heights, or compression by wood and stones. For any injury where blood stasis condenses and accumulates, qi ceases and death seems imminent; or long-standing accumulated blood stasis causing irritability, pain, swelling, and inability to cry out, use this medicine to promote the discharge of blood stasis, and recovery will follow. This medicine can eliminate the old and generate the new. (Formula see Fracture and Injury Department)
