Fu Ling Wan (Poria Pill)
Treats arm pain preventing elevation, or alternating pain on either side. This arises from latent phlegm accumulating internally, stagnating at Zhong Wan (Middle Jiao), causing impaired spleen Qi circulation. The limbs belong to the Spleen; stagnation prevents Qi from ascending, causing it to attack the arms upward. A deep and fine pulse confirms this diagnosis. Later physicians identified this arm pain as a phlegm syndrome. Using this formula for phlegm-induced arm pain is invariably effective.
Ingredients: Fu Ling (Poria, 1 liang), Zhi Ke (Bitter Orange, 0.5 liang, bran-fried, pith removed), Ban Xia (Pinellia Rhizome, 2 liang), Feng Hua Po Xiao (Weathered Mirabilite, 1 fen).
