Qi Heat, Qi Deficiency, Blood Heat, Blood Deficiency. For Qi Heat syndrome, use six liang of Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) in strip form and one liang of Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), grind into powder, and make pills with Qu (Medicated Leaven); for Qi Deficiency, tonify Qi using Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Huangqi (Astragali Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shengma, etc.; for Blood Deficiency, use Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction); for Blood Heat, cool the blood by adding Chao Huangbai (Fried Phellodendri Cortex) to Siwu Tang. Another method for treating rectal prolapse uses Wubeizi (Galae Fructus) ground into powder, manually pushing it back into place. If not reduced after one attempt, it will certainly be reduced after five to seven attempts, then stop.
First, one must abstain from rich and strong-flavored foods. Use one liang two qian of Haizao (Sargassum Thallus) and one liang of Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), grind into powder, take a small amount on the palm; lick it frequently and swallow with saliva. When symptoms reduce by two-thirds, stop subsequent doses.
Use Heixi (Black Tin) roasted to ash, mixed with Binglang (Arecae Semen) powder, taken with rice water.
If already ulcerated and exposed to Wind pathogen, it is incurable. Use Soufeng Tang (Search Wind Decoction) to induce vomiting; this source is from *Yilei Yuanrong*, which originally only contained the Sounong Tang (Search Pus Decoction). To contract the wound, drink a strong decoction of Baiyan (Ampelopsis Radix) together with Hehuanpi (Albiziae Cortex). For Feiwu (Flaccid Lung), administer Renping Pingfei San (Ginseng-Lung-Pacifying Powder). Treating Flaccid Lung focuses on nourishing the Lung, Qi, Blood, and clearing Metal (clearing Lung heat). I once treated a woman in her twenties who had an ulcerated opening between her chest and ribs; pus and blood coughed up from her mouth corresponded with this opening. She was treated with a Qi and Blood tonifying formula containing Renshen, Huangqi, and Danggui, plus herbs for reducing fever and expelling pus.
Treat as Damp-Heat and Food Stagnation. There is Phlegm accumulation in the Large Intestine, with dead blood flowing and pooling; use Taoren Chengqi Tang (Peach Kernel Draining the Interior Decoction) added with Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus) and Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix). Ulcerations near the anus are difficult to treat due to Wind invasion; use Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) as the main herb.
Prescription: Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Gualou (Trichosanthis Fructus), Juye (Citri Reticulatae Folium), Lianqiao, Taoren (Prunus Persica Seed) keeping the tip, Zaojiaoci (Gleditsiae Spina), Gancao Jie (Licorice Joint). If ulcerated, add more Renshen and Huangqi. For Ru Li (Breast Nodule) that has ulcerated, survival is rare; massive tonification is required using Renshen, Huangqi, Chuanxiong, Danggui, Qingpi, Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Lianqiao, Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), and Gancao. Another prescription includes Gualou. For Ru Yan (Breast Cancer) before ulceration, add Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) and Taixiong (Chuanxiong). For treating small nodules in the breast: Nanxing (Arisaematis Rhizoma), Beimu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), Gancao Jie, Gualou (one liang each above); Lianqiao, Qingpi (five qian each above). For Ru Yong (Breast Abscess), Nai Lao (Nursing Labor), and swelling: Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Shao Huapi (Burned Betula Bark), Gualouzi (Trichosanthis Semen), Gancao Jie, Qingpi. For Chuinai (Blowing Milk/Lactational Mastitis): Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Tianqiaomai (Polygoni Multiflori Herba), Zigeteng (Calystegiae Hederacea Caulis), equal parts; decoct with vinegar for washing the area, or use Jinyinhua alone. For Breast Abscess, apply fresh Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) juice externally, changing it when hot; this is invariably effective. Another prescription: crush one old Gualou, boil in ten dou of wine to obtain four sheng, take three times daily. Another prescription, a poem says: "How to treat blowing milk in women? Burn Gleditsia spina to ash, mix with clam powder, blend ash with hot wine, clap hands shortly and laugh." Another prescription: crush Yimucacao (Leonuri Herba) or use dry powder mixed with water for application. Another prescription: apply thickly ground Lujiiao (Cornu Cervi Degelatinatum) juice. Another prescription: roast Gualouzi into powder, take two qian with wine before sleep. For cracked nipples, apply Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos) powder; if dry, mix with saliva. For postpartum Breast Abscess in women: Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Danggui Xu (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Tip), Lianqiao, Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), Qingpi (five fen each); Beimu, Tianhuafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) (one qian each); Gualou (half); Gancao Jie (one qian half). Decoct in water, take slowly while half-hungry or half-full. Add Chaihu and Huangqin if there is heat; avoid alcohol, meat, and pepper/spices. For external application: Nanxing, Hanshuishi (Calcitum), Zaojiao, Beimu, Baizhi, Caowu (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) ground into powder, mixed with vinegar for application. The breast is the pathway of the Yangming Meridian; the nipple belongs to the Jueyin Meridian. Nursing mothers, due to rich food or anger, may experience stagnant Qi, blocked orifices, and retained milk. Yangming blood becomes hot and transforms into pus. It can also result from the infant's hot breath blowing into the breast, forming nodules. At the initial stage, one must endure pain and massage until soft; if Qi flows freely, it will dissipate naturally. Missing this window without treatment will lead to abscess formation. To disperse Jueyin stagnation, use Qingpi to clear Yangming heat, Shigao to remove turbid blood, raw Gancao Jie to reduce swelling and toxicity, Gualouzi, or add Qing Juye, Moyao (Myrrha), Zaojiaoci, Jinyinhua, Danggui Tou (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Head). Modify as powder or decoction, aided by a little wine. Apply moxibustion (two or three moxa cones) on the swollen area; this is very effective. Do not recklessly use needles or knives to provoke complications. There is also Yinhe (Hidden Nodule) formed by accumulated sorrow, resembling a turtle egg, painless and non-itchy, becoming an ulcerous depression after ten years, named Nai Yan (Breast Rock/Cancer) because its concavity resembles a rock cave; this is incurable. However, if the root cause is eliminated at the onset, calming the mind and spirit, and applying treatment, there is a possibility of stabilization. My niece-in-law developed this condition at eighteen, with an impatient temperament and solid pulse; the difficulty lay in the later progression. Thus, I gave her a decoction of single Qingpi, alternating with Modified Siwu Tang, and she stabilized within two months.
