处方：桑叶、白菊花、黑栀子皮、夏枯草花、草决明、小生香附、赤芍、谷精草。
邱姓患者（十八岁），眼睛发红且流泪多，眼部肿胀但不疼痛。治疗必须采用轻清疏散的方法，以防风热之邪损伤瞳神。
处方：桑叶、谷精草、连翘、草决明、白甘菊、黑山栀、赤芍。
叶姓患者（三十六岁），眼睛发红、肿胀且疼痛。
处方：桑叶（一钱）、夏枯草花（一钱）、生香附（二钱）、豆皮（一钱）、草决明（一钱五分）、白甘菊（一钱）、赤芍（一钱五分）、黑山栀（一钱五分）。
欧姓患者（五十四岁），前额及头部胀满，眼睛发红且疼痛。
处方：羚羊角（一钱）、草决明（一钱五分）、夏枯草花（一钱）、生香附（二钱）、连翘（一钱五分）、黑山栀（一钱五分）、苦丁茶（三分）、白甘菊（一钱）。
陆姓患者（六十二岁），肝肾长期虚弱，导致眼睛发红、眼睑生翳，热泪频繁流出，视物昏暗无光。
处方：霜桑叶（一钱）、黄甘菊（一钱）、石决明（三钱）、制何首乌（三钱）、枸杞子（一钱五分）、小胡麻（一钱五分）、豆皮（二钱）、望月砂（二钱）。
沈姓患者（四十四岁），少阳经的风热之邪未能解除，热邪移入脑部形成鼻渊（鼻窦炎）。
处方：羚羊角（一钱）、连翘壳、苍耳子、薄荷梗、辛夷、黑山栀、苦丁茶（三分）、白芷（一分）。
钱姓患者（三十七岁），面色红赤并伴有咳嗽，脑部发热引发鼻渊。鼻为肺之窍，因少阳风热上炎，热邪逼迫清道，导致脑液下注。现议定采用苦辛宣通之法治疗。
处方：羚羊角（一钱）、泡白杏仁（三钱）、郁金（一钱）、夏枯草花（一钱）、连翘壳（一钱五分）、黑山栀（一钱）、苦丁茶（三分）、薄荷梗（八分）。
沈姓患者（二十一岁），鼻塞右侧更为严重。鼻是肺的窍道，若有形之物高突阻塞，则是气机受阻的表现。清窍失去正常功能，因心肺之火有余而肾水亏虚，火邪乘虚而入。先拟定辛通宣窍之法，从气分进行治疗。
处方：薄荷（八分）、嫩元参（二钱）、蔓荆子（二钱）、羚羊角（一钱五分）、连翘（一钱五分）、小生香附（四钱）、真北细辛（五分）、白甘菊（一钱）、黑山栀（一钱五分），加鲜荷叶边（一钱）。
Wu (age 9), in early childhood, presented with red eyes and corneal opacity. Do not use overly acrid or bitter herbs, as this may further damage the Qi aspect.
Prescription: Folium Mori (Sangye), Flos Chrysanthemi Indici (Baijuhua), Cortex Gardeniae (Heizhupi), Flos Prunellae (Xiakuahua), Semen Cassiae (Caojieming), Rhizoma Cyperi Minoris (Xiaoshengxiangfu), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao), Flos Sparganii (Gujingcao).
Qiu (age 18), presented with red eyes and excessive tearing, swelling without pain. Light dispersing methods must be used to prevent wind-heat from damaging the pupil spirit.
Prescription: Folium Mori (Sangye), Flos Sparganii (Gujingcao), Fructus Forsythiae (Lianqiao), Semen Cassiae (Caojieming), Flos Chrysanthemi Indici Bai (Bai Ganju), Fructus Gardeniae (Hei Shanzhi), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao).
Ye (age 36), presented with red, swollen, and painful eyes.
Prescription: Folium Mori (Sangye) [1 qian], Flos Prunellae (Xiakuahua) [1 qian], Rhizoma Cyperi (Shengxiangfu) [2 qian], Cortex Phaseoli (Doupí) [1 qian], Semen Cassiae (Caojieming) [1.5 qian], Flos Chrysanthemi Indici Bai (Bai Ganju) [1 qian], Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishao) [1.5 qian], Fructus Gardeniae (Hei Shanzhi) [1.5 qian].
Ou (age 54), presented with distension of the forehead and head, and red, painful eyes.

Lu (age 62), with long-standing deficiency of the Liver and Kidney, presented with red eyes, corneal opacity, frequent hot tears, and dim vision without light perception.
Prescription: Frost-dried Folium Mori (Shuang Sangye) [1 qian], Yellow Flos Chrysanthemi (Huang Ganju), Concha Arcae (Shijueming) [3 qian], Prepared Radix Polygoni Multiflori (Zhi Shouwu) [3 qian], Fructus Lycii (Qizi) [1.5 qian], Small Sesame Seed (Xiao Huma) [1.5 qian], Cortex Phaseoli (Doupí) [2 qian], Faeces Leporis (Wangyuesha) [2 qian].
Shen (age 44), Shaoyang wind-heat had not yet resolved; heat transferred to the brain causing nasal discharge (Bi Yuan).

Qian (age 37), presented with a red face and cough, brain heat leading to nasal discharge (Bi Yuan). The nose is the aperture of the Lung; Shaoyang wind-heat flares upward, heat forces the clear pathways, causing brain fluid to flow downward. It is proposed to use bitter and acrid methods to diffuse and unblock.

Shen (age 21), nasal congestion worse on the right side. The nose is the aperture of the Lung;有形 high protrusion indicates obstruction of Qi. The clear apertures have lost their governance due to excess fire of the Heart and Lung combined with deficiency of Water, allowing fire to invade. Initially prescribe acrid methods to unblock and open the apertures, treating from the Qi aspect.
