(Tiaowei Chengqi Tang, Regulating the Stomach and Purging the Intestines Decoction)来攻逐里实。 (Wenzhi Huiyang Jiuji Tang, Warming to Restore Yang and Rescue from Crisis Decoction),这是区分表里寒热进行治疗的方法。
(Dafei Rebing, Severe Heat Disease of the Head and Face)。
(Yangming Shaoyang Hebing, Combined Disease of Yangming and Shaoyang),下利,傍晚发热如疟疾状。
Treatment for Lianggan Shanghan (Lianggan Cold Damage, a condition where both Taiyang and Shaoyin meridians are affected simultaneously), which begins with headache, aversion to cold, fever, dry mouth, and dry tongue. Since the Yang meridians are predominantly affected, administer this decoction immediately as a trial; if it hits the pathology, recovery will ensue.
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Genge (Puerariae Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum). Add two zhong of water to the above herbs, along with three slices of ginger roasted in fire, two jujubes, and a pinch of black beans. Decoct and take warm. Recovery is indicated by slight sweating. If there is no improvement, and exterior symptoms are predominant and severe, use Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, 麻黄) and Puerariae Radix (Gegen, 葛根) to release the exterior. If interior symptoms are predominant and severe, first use Tiaowei Chengqi Tang (Regulating the Stomach and Purging the Intestines Decoction) to purge the interior. If the disease strikes due to Yin deficiency, presenting with fever, diarrhea, body pain, deep and fine pulse lacking strength, absence of thirst, fatigue, desire to lie down, and heavy dizziness, one must first rescue the interior by warming and restoring Yang using Wenzhi Huiyang Jiuji Tang (Warming to Restore Yang and Rescue from Crisis Decoction). This approach distinguishes between exterior-interior and cold-heat patterns for treatment.
Another formula: For epidemic febrile diseases transforming into jaundice, known as Wenyellow (Epidemic Jaundice). It is suitable for treating internal damp-heat accumulation.
Yinchen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 qian), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (0.7 qian), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) (1.5 qian), Genge (Puerariae Radix) (1.5 qian).
Add two zhong of water and three slices of ginger, decoct and take.
Another formula: For Dafei Rebing (Severe Heat Disease of the Head and Face).
Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (each 1.5 qian), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Sheng Gancao (Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), Bohe Ye (Menthae Haplocalycis Folium) (each 1 qian).
Add one and a half zhong of water, decoct and take.
Another formula: For Dafei Bing (Swollen Head Disease).
Cebaiye (Platycladi Cacumen), Ruan Zao (Soft Jujube) (each 5 qian).
Decoct with water and take, or prepare as honey pills to be held in the mouth for dissolution; this method is particularly excellent.
For cases where symptoms persist after taking Xiaochaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction), with intensified heat in both exterior and interior, urgency beneath the heart, mild oppression and irritability, or fever, sweating without resolution, epigastric fullness and hardness, vomiting, and diarrhea. Or in Yangming disease with excessive sweating, or Shaoyin disease with clear watery diarrhea, pain beneath the heart and dry mouth, or Taiyin disease with abdominal fullness. Or when there are no obvious exterior or interior symptoms, but only fever for seven to eight days, with a floating and rapid pulse located at the muscle layer, solid, slippery, and rapid. Also applicable to Lianggan conditions that can be mildly purged, combined Yangming-Shaoyang disease, diarrhea, and evening fever resembling malaria. This formula removes heat from both exterior and interior.
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) (each 2.5 qian), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (5 qian), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (2 qian), Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) (3 qian, raw and smaller pieces are preferred...).
Crush the herbs to the size of hemp seeds. Divide into three doses. Add one and a half zhong of water, decoct with ginger and jujubes until reduced to half a zhong. Take warm. If bowel movement has not occurred, take another dose.
