Gansui (Kansui Radix, processed to remove the core) Zidaji (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix, processed to remove the skin) Baijiezi (Brassicae Semen Album, equal amounts)
Grind the above into fine powder, mix with wheat paste to make pills the size of wu zi (loquat seeds), and dry in the sun. Take thirty pills with ginger decoction before sleep, or with hot water. Recovery is achieved when phlegm-fluids are purged through defecation.
Treats men and women who, due to fright, sorrow, or loss of will, or excessive rumination, suffer from qi stagnation that fails to disperse. This accumulates into phlegm-saliva, remaining in the pericardium, blocking the heart orifices, leading to incoherent speech, shouting, and running about. Regular use calms the soul, stabilizes the spirit, and tonifies heart qi.

Palpitations arising from fear within the heart present with a Dai (intermittent) or Jie (knotted) pulse. Palpitations caused by diet present with a Chen (deep), Fu (hidden), Dong (thrilling), or Hua (slippery) pulse. True intense heartbeat sensation indicates Blood deficiency, treatable with Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) combined with Zhusha Anshen Wan.
