The first method: Use Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), removing the skin and umbilical scar. First, boil half a cup of salt water and half a cup of ginger juice in a clay pot for seven boiling cycles. Then add half a liang of Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and half a liang of Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), followed by half a cup of Tongbian (Child's Urine). Boil again for seven cycles. Stop heating, let it stand for a considerable time, remove, and store in porcelain vessels. Let it lie on the ground to absorb earth qi for one day and night, then take out and dry in the sun for later use, thereby avoiding toxicity. Those that are round at the top with a proper umbilicus and weigh one liang per piece are preferred. This is an excellent method.
The second method: Use Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma); those with "brocade patterns" (Jinwen) are preferred. Cut into slices, mix evenly with wine, dry, and reserve for later use; this will not damage Yin blood. For young, robust patients with excess heat syndrome, raw material may be used without processing. This is an excellent method.
The third method: Use Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), removing the nodes. Soak briefly in boiling vinegar water, remove, and reserve for later use, thereby preventing excessive sweating. In severe winter cold when pores are tight, if raw usage is indicated, no processing is needed. This is an excellent method.
The fourth method: Use Zhuyu (Corni Fructus), mix evenly with salt water, stir-fry until dry, and reserve for later use, thereby eliminating its mild toxicity. This is an excellent method.
The first detoxification method: If the posterior end of Fuzi shows red spots, it indicates excessive Aconite toxicity. Crush fresh Luobo (Raphani Semen), filter two large cups of juice, add half a liang of Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), half a liang of Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), and three qian of Xijiao (Rhinoceoris Cornu), decoct to 80% volume, and drink to resolve Aconite toxicity; the redness will disappear. If detoxification is delayed, bleeding from ears, eyes, mouth, and nose will occur, leading to certain death. If fresh radish is unavailable, Raphani Semen (Luobozhi) crushed and juiced can be used. This is an excellent method. If Raphani Semen is unavailable, clarified mud water can also be used.
The second detoxification method: If Dahuang causes unceasing diarrhea, use two Wumei (Mume Fructus), a pinch of fried Jingmi (Oryza Sativa Var. Japonica), three qian of Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), half a liang each of Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) and Chao Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), one and a half qian of Sheng Fuzi Pi (Fuzi Cortex), one qian of Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), a small amount of Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), a handful of Dengxin (Junci Medulla), and two large cups of water. Strain, add one spoonful of fried Chen Bitu (Old Wall Earth), mix, and take orally to stop diarrhea; this utilizes earth qi to assist Stomach qi. This is an excellent method.
The third detoxification method: If Mahuang causes unceasing sweating, immerse the patient's body in a basin of water with feet exposed outside. Take half a sheng of fried Nuomi (Glutinous Rice), one liang each of Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae), Muli (Concha Ostreae), Gaoben (Ligustici Rhizoma et Radix), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), grind into fine powder, and dust over the entire body. Subsequently apply secret formula medication to prevent death from Yang collapse. This is an excellent method.
