Cicada Slough (the posterior half, four pieces ground into powder) Cinnabar (2 fen, levigated with water) Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (4 fen)
Decoct in water, mix with a few drops of wine, and take orally; crying will cease immediately.
Another Prescription:
Galla Chinensis (Wubeizi) roasted and ground, mixed with saliva to form a paste, applied to the umbilicus; crying ceases immediately, with excellent efficacy.

Licorice Root (Daganycao, 1 liang 2 qian)
Decoct in 6 bowls of water until reduced to 2 bowls; consumption leads to complete recovery.
