If this syndrome is treated by clearing fire, the pathogenic factor will enter from the Spleen into the Large Intestine, inevitably transforming into hematochezia (blood in stool). The prescription used is Qinghuo Zhixie Tang (Fire-Clearing Diarrhea-Stop Decoction): Poria (1 liang), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (2 qian), Amomi Fructus Rotundus (3 grains), Coptidis Rhizoma (3 qian). Decoct with water and take orally.
If this syndrome is treated by dispersing cold, the pathogenic factor will be introduced into the Kidney and flow into the Bladder, inevitably transforming into enuresis (involuntary urination). The treatment method should be to disperse cold and stop vomiting, using the prescription Zhiou Sanhan Tang (Vomiting-Stopping Cold-Dispersing Decoction): Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (2 liang), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (5 qian), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (1 qian), Zingiberis Rhizoma (1 qian), Caryophylli Flos (0.5 qian). Decoct with water and take orally. This formula uses splea-tonifying herbs while dispersing cold, so that the cold cannot ascend rebelliously nor descend downward; thus, it must exit through the umbilicus.
Some individuals vomit food immediately after ingestion. This occurs because Kidney Water deficiency fails to moisten the throat, causing dryness of the throat and immediate expulsion of food. The prescription used is: Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (2 liang), Corni Fructus (5 qian), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (1 liang), Moutan Cortex (3 qian), Poria (5 qian), Alismatis Rhizoma (3 qian), Ophiopogonis Radix (5 qian), Schisandrae Fructus (1 qian). Decoct with water and take orally.
Others vomit food after it has remained in the stomach for a long time. This occurs because Kidney Fire deficiency fails to warm the Spleen Earth, resulting in Spleen Cold and subsequent regurgitation. The prescription used is: Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (2 liang), Corni Fructus (1 liang), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (6 qian), Moutan Cortex (3 qian), Poria (3 qian), Alismatis Rhizoma (3 qian), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (3 qian), Cinnamomi Cortex (3 qian). Decoct with water and take orally.
This syndrome manifests as generalized edema, where pressing the skin leaves an indentation like mud. If not urgently treated, fluid accumulation spreads to the four limbs and cannot exit via the Bladder, leading to a fatal condition. The prescription used is Jueliu Tang (Flow-Deciding Decoction): Pharbitidis Semen (Qian Niu Zi, 2 qian), Kansui Radix (2 qian), Cinnamomi Cortex (1 liang), Plantaginis Semen (1 liang). Decoct with water and take orally. After one dose, more than one dou of fluid is expelled; after two doses, recovery is achieved. It is absolutely forbidden to administer a third dose, as doing so would be lethal. Qian Niu Zi (Pharbitidis Semen) and Kansui Radix are most effective at promoting diuresis; combined with Cinnamomi Cortex and Plantaginis Semen to guide water into the Bladder, they promote diuresis without depleting Qi, preventing the excessive potency of Qian Niu Zi and Kansui Radix. After two doses, Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) should be used for regulation for two doses, followed by Liujunzi Tang (Six-Gentlemen Decoction) to tonify the Spleen. Furthermore, salt must be strictly avoided for three months; violation of this prohibition renders the condition incurable.
