二气含和即着生
魂者，阳真精也。魄者，阴真精也。二精处乎泥丸宫，以蒂二气。不相离溃而神明居之，生方着也。
老子曰∶万物负阴抱阳，以成其道。
始名魂魄应真灵
子产曰∶人始曰魄，既生阳曰魂。是故二气发生，莫非魂魄而应真灵。及其生也，万变千化，有
生有死。无超跃三清，漂沦诸趣。得丧之机，实在此矣。
在天日月全通象
日月者，天地魂魄也。故魂者为日，主昼天真精也；魄者为月，主夜地真精也。是知明暗同源，
往来通会。盖人之魂魄，全通象于日月也。淮南王曰∶天之气成魂，地之气成魄。又《五脏内镜》云∶
父之精气为魂，母之精气为魄。其理昭然矣。
万化皆从守一宁
万化者，盖心之所灭而运役魂魄，着于生云。故圣人设千经万术，教化群品，显是守一之法而息
诸妄也。
阳精魂主号神金
魂者，阳真精也，故阳精是神之金。圣人为之法体，递相系属，以通真也。韩子云∶非至精不
能变至神。抱朴子云∶老君者，天之魂，感日精而孕，化成兆身，故显至阳之精也。
感应潜符运用心
心动即气转，故云潜符，以明感应也。
若使圆通诸妄息
若息诸妄，至于圆通，即气以合于神而生变也。
灵光照耀脱全阴
真精既备乃合灵，逍遥不夜，即脱坼全阴之质。故圣人禀御以通灵变也。
二气含和即着生
魂，是阳性的真精。魄，是阴性的真精。这两种精气居住在泥丸宫（脑部），以此维系二气的根本。如果不分离溃散，那么神明就会居于其中，生命才能确立。
老子说：“万物背负阴而怀抱阳，以此来成就其道。”
始名魂魄应真灵
子产说：“人初生时称为魄，出生后阳气发动才称为魂。”因此，二气发生作用，无不涉及魂魄，以响应真正的灵性。等到生命形成之后，经历万般变化，有生也有死。如果不能超越三清境界，就会在六道中漂泊沉沦。得失的关键，实在就在这里了。
在天日月全通象
太阳和月亮，是天地的魂魄。所以魂对应太阳，主宰白天的天真精；魄对应月亮，主宰夜晚的地真精。由此可知，光明与黑暗同出一源，往来相通。人的魂魄，完全与日月的形象相通。淮南王说：“天的气构成魂，地的气构成魄。”另外《五脏内镜》中说：“父亲的精气化为魂，母亲的精气化为魄。”其中的道理非常显明。
万化皆从守一宁
所谓的“万化”，大概是指心若灭息并役使魂魄，从而执着于生命状态。所以圣人设立千经万法，教化各类众生，显示的正是“守一”的方法，以平息各种妄念。
阳精魂主号神金
魂，是阳性的真精，所以阳精就是神的金质。圣人为此制定法则体系，相互关联，以通达真理。韩非子说：“不是极其精微，就不能变化为极其神圣。”抱朴子说：“老君是天的魂，感应太阳的精气而受孕，化成万千身躯，所以显现出至阳的精气。”
感应潜符运用心
心动则气随之转动，所以称为“潜符”，以说明感应的原理。
若使圆通诸妄息
如果平息各种妄念，达到圆融通达的境界，那么气就会与神相合而产生变化。
灵光照耀脱全阴
真正的精气既然具备，就能与灵相合，逍遥自在不分昼夜，从而摆脱纯粹阴质的束缚。所以圣人禀受驾驭这种能力以通达灵变。
Two Qi Containing Harmony Leads to Existence
Hun (Ethereal Soul) is the true essence of Yang. Po (Corporeal Soul) is the true essence of Yin. These two essences reside in the Niwan Palace (the upper dantian/brain), serving as the root for the Two Qi. If they do not separate or disintegrate, then Shen (Spirit) resides within it, and life is established.
Laozi said: "All things carry Yin on their backs and embrace Yang with their arms, thereby accomplishing their Way."
Initially Named Hun and Po Respond to True Spirit
Zi Chan said: "At birth, one is called Po; after birth, when Yang Qi activates, one is called Hun." Therefore, the generation of the Two Qi invariably involves Hun and Po to respond to the True Spirit. Once life is formed, it undergoes myriad transformations, experiencing both birth and death. Without transcending the Three Pure Ones, one drifts and sinks through the various realms (of existence). The mechanism of gain and loss lies truly here.
In Heaven, Sun and Moon Fully Reflect the Image
The Sun and Moon are the Hun and Po of Heaven and Earth. Thus, Hun corresponds to the Sun, governing the true essence of Heaven during the day; Po corresponds to the Moon, governing the true essence of Earth during the night. From this, we know that brightness and darkness share the same source and interconnect. Human Hun and Po fully correspond to the imagery of the Sun and Moon. King Huainan said: "The Qi of Heaven forms Hun, and the Qi of Earth forms Po." Additionally, *Wangzang Neijing* (Inner Mirror of the Five Zang Organs) states: "The father's essence becomes Hun, and the mother's essence becomes Po." The principle is thus clear.
Myriad Transformations Arise from Guarding Unity and Tranquility
"Myriad Transformations" refers generally to the mind extinguishing itself and directing Hun and Po, attaching to the state of life. Therefore, the Sages established thousands of scriptures and methods to educate all beings, revealing the method of "Guarding Unity" to cease all delusions.
Yang Essence, Hun's Master, Is Called Divine Metal
Hun is the true essence of Yang; thus, Yang essence is the metal of Shen (Spirit). The Sages established laws and systems, linking them successively to connect with Truth. Han Feizi said: "Without utmost subtlety, one cannot transform into utmost divinity." Baopuzi said: "Laojun is the Hun of Heaven, conceived by sensing the Sun's essence, transforming into countless bodies, thus manifesting the utmost Yang essence."
Resonance Secretly Complies, Utilizing the Mind
When the mind moves, Qi turns; hence it is called "Secret Compliance," illustrating the principle of resonance.
If One Achieves Roundness and Penetration, All Delusions Cease
If one ceases all delusions and reaches a state of roundness and penetration, then Qi combines with Shen to generate transformation.
Spiritual Light Illuminates, Shedding Pure Yin
Once the true essence is complete, it merges with Spirit, roaming freely without distinction between day and night, thereby shedding the quality of pure Yin. Thus, the Sages receive and control this to achieve spiritual transformation.
