Dou Jing (Strabismus or fixed gaze) occurs due to accidental blows or strikes hitting the head, face, or forehead, or combined with falling and tumbling, causing fright-wind in the infant's Liver, resulting in the eyes staring or deviating.
Alternatively, if the Tai Yang channel is affected by cold, the sinews become cold and contract, thus pulling the eyes inward and causing stiffness, leading to Dou Jing.

Suo Du (Lock-belly, i.e., neonatal constipation) arises because during gestation, the mother consumed excessive hot-natured foods, causing heat-toxins to accumulate excessively within the infant and obstruct the anus, preventing passage. If stool is not passed within three days, urgently have the mother rinse her mouth with warm water, express milk from the infant's anterior chest, posterior back, both palms, both soles, and below the navel, until the milk turns reddish. If still obstructed, it indicates internal closure of the anus; one must use an object to penetrate it. A gold hairpin is best, a jade hairpin is secondary, inserting about two cun deep. Then insert Su He Xiang Wan (Styrax Pills) into the opening, containing inside a honey pill mixed with 0.5 fen Qing Fen (Calomel), dissolve in warm water, and administer orally. Relief is achieved when feces are expelled. If the abdomen becomes distended, the infant cannot suckle or eat, emits groaning sounds, and reaches this stage, survival is difficult.
Ru Ji (Vomiting/Milk Regurgitation) may result from imbalance of cold and heat, stagnation in the chest and diaphragm, condensing into phlegm; or from being too cold or overfed; or from breastfeeding immediately after feeding, forming food accumulation patterns; or from frequent gastric reflux damaging weak Stomach Qi. However, if prolonged without cessation, it leads to mental fatigue and Qi deficiency, gradually weakening into epilepsy. Ultimately, this is caused by the nursing mother's irregular lifestyle and unregulated breastfeeding habits. It should be regulated by distinguishing between cold, heat, excess, and deficiency.
