The Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian originates at Yinbai (SP1) on the medial end of the great toe, followed by Dadu (SP2), Taibai (SP3), and Gongsun (SP4). Shangqiu (SP5) is located directly above, leading to Sanyinjiao (SP6). Ascending further are Lougu (SP7), Dijji (SP8), and Yinlingquan (SP9). Xuehai (SP10), Jimen (SP11), and Chongmen (SP12) follow. Fushhe (SP13), Fujie (SP14), and Daheng (SP15) are arranged upwards. Fu'ai (SP16), Shidou (SP17), and Tianxi (SP18) connect sequentially. Finally, Xiongxiang (SP19), Zhourong (SP20), and Dadabao (SP21) conclude the meridian, comprising a total of twenty-one acupoints of the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian.
Yinbai (SP1) is located at the medial tip of the great toe. Dadu (SP2) is sought in the depression behind the joint. Taibai (SP3) is found below the bony prominence on the medial side of the foot. Gongsun (SP4) is one cun posterior to the joint. Shangqiu (SP5) is in the slight depression anterior and inferior to the medial malleolus. Sanyinjiao (SP6) is three cun superior to the medial malleolus. Lougu (SP7) is another three cun superior. Dijji (SP8) is five cun superior to the medial malleolus. Yinlingquan (SP9) is on the medial aspect below the knee. Xuehai (SP10) is on the medial margin, one cun superior to the patella. Jimen (SP11) is located above the adductor magnus muscle ("fish belly"), between two tendons where the pulse is palpable. Chongmen (SP12) is at the pulsation at both ends of the Henggu bone. Fushhe (SP13) is seven fen superior to Chongmen. Fujie (SP14) is three cun superior to Fushhe. Daheng (SP15) is one cun and three fen superior to Fujie. Fu'ai (SP16) is three cun and half a cun superior to Daheng. Shidou (SP17) is three cun superior to Fu'ai. Tianxi (SP18) is one cun and six fen superior to Shidou. Xiongxiang (SP19) and Zhourong (SP20) are located similarly. Dadabao (SP21) is located approximately six cun below the axilla, at the end of the ninth rib in the hypochondriac region.
[Note] Yinbai (SP1) is located at the medial tip of the great toe, approximately the width of a leek leaf from the corner of the nail. Moving along the medial aspect of the great toe to the interosseous space at the end of the second phalanx, in the depression at the junction of red and white skin, is Dadu (SP2). From Dadu, moving along the posteromedial aspect of the great toe to the depression at the junction of red and white skin below the bony prominence anterior to the medial malleolus, is Taibai (SP3). Ascending from Taibai, one cun posterior to the base of the great toe, in the depression anterior to the medial malleolus, is Gongsun (SP4). Ascending from Gongsun, in the slight depression anterior and inferior to the medial malleolus, is Shangqiu (SP5). Ascending from Shangqiu, three cun superior to the apex of the medial malleolus, in the depression between the bones, is Sanyinjiao (SP6). Ascending three cun from Sanyinjiao, in the depression between the bones, is Lougu (SP7). Ascending five cun from Lougu, on the medial aspect five cun below the knee, in the depression between the bones, with the leg extended, is Dijji (SP8). Ascending from Dijji to below the knee, in the depression at the head of the transverse crease on the medial aspect when the knee is flexed, is Yinlingquan (SP9). Ascending from Yinlingquan, one cun superior to the patella, in the depression at the junction of the white skin on the medial margin, is Xuehai (SP10). Ascending from Xuehai, above the adductor magnus muscle, crossing between two tendons on the medial aspect of the thigh, where the artery is palpable and not suppressed by heavy pressure, is Jimen (SP11).
