Chengpian (a type of processed herb) is broken into pieces, placed in boiling water, mixed raw with honey for consumption, and stir-fried for drinkers suffering from thirst. Another variety, wild Ge (Kadsura longipedunculata), cannot be processed for food; it is toxic, causes abortion, and is fatal to humans.
