Xiao Jian Zhong Tang with Yin Chen Decoction
(Condition Note) Spleen deficiency with impaired transportation belongs to Yin Jaundice. Shaoyao (White Peony Root) harmonizes the Ying (Nutritive) level, Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) transforms Yang. Gancao (Licorice), Dazao (Jujube), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger), and Yitang (Maltose) provide wonderful warming and tonifying effects. Adding Yinchen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba) benefits the Bladder by draining dampness.
Zhen Wu Tang with Yin Chen Decoction
(Condition Note Formula seen in Shanghan Lun) Kidney deficiency with impaired Qi transformation belongs to Yin Jaundice. The treatment method should employ Zhenwu Tang; adding Yinchen is particularly exquisite. It is said that promoting diuresis is a good prescription.
Yinchen Wuling San
(Condition Note) Sweating combined with promoting diuresis is appropriate. The treatment method for Yang Jaundice yields peculiar efficacy. Er Ling (Poria and Alisma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Ze Xie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Yinchen, and Guizhi dispel dampness and unblock meridians, curing the disease.
Zhuling Tang with Yin Chen Prescription
(Condition Note Formula seen in Wen Yi Lun) The condition belongs to Yang Jaundice, requiring precise differentiation. Heat in the Bladder generally requires clearing. Zhuling Tang is truly miraculous in use; adding Yinchen calms water disorders.
Da Chengqi Tang without Houpo plus Zhizi and Yin Chen Decoction
(Condition Note) Da Chengqi Tang exerts heavy force. Remove Houpo (Magnolia Bark), retain Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Zhishi (Bitter Orange), and Mangxiao (Mirabilite). Adding Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Yinchen provides clever clearing and draining; abdominal stasis-heat naturally dissipates.
Gancao Yinchen Tang
(Condition Note) One must know early when the disease becomes Grain Jaundice. When abdominal fullness occurs followed by palpitations and dysuria, Zhizi and Yinchen clearing and draining are clever, while Dahuang and Gancao offer suitable purgative and tonifying actions.
Zhizi Dahuang Syndrome
When the disease becomes Wine Jaundice due to damp-evil injury, mental restlessness (Ao Nao) must be distinguished carefully. Heat pain, nausea, and desire to vomit occur. The method should employ Zhizi Dahuang Tang.
Zhizi Dahuang Tang
When Wine Jaundice forms, medical attention must be swift. Use Zhishi and Dahuang to attack hardness. Dou Chi (Prepared Soybean) is suitable for regulating the middle and opening stagnation; Zhizi is used to clear heat and relieve irritability.
Yuan Ming Fen, Huashi, Fuling, Gancao Syndrome
Yellow color jaundice differentiation should be detailed. Fever, aversion to cold, and black loose stools occur. Although urination is patent, distension remains. Abdominal stasis causes discomfort.
Yuan Ming Fen, Huashi, Fuling, Gancao Powder
Fuling (Poria), Gancao (Licorice), and Huashi (Talcum) are preferably used together. Using Yuan Ming Fen (Mirabilite powder) yields miraculous effects. This medicine is suitable for deep-seated color jaundice, capable of treating abdominal stasis-heat.
[Outline of Huang Han (Sweat Staining Yellow)]
The body experiences sudden palpitations and uncontrollable swelling. Thirst arises solely due to heat-evil invasion. Knowing this, the symptoms resemble Feng Shui (Wind-Water edema). Huang Han stains clothes, and the pulse is deep.
Huang Qin, Guizhi, Shaoyao, Ku Jiu Decoction
Only Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) moves outward to unblock Ying and Wei. Ku Jiu (Vinegar) can clear stasis-heat. Shaoyao (White Peony Root) nourishes Yin and should be used concurrently. The method to expel Huang Han is more refined.
Guizhi Jia Huang Qi Tang
(Condition Note Guizhi Tang seen in Shanghan Lun) Body pain, irritability, and constipation or difficulty urinating occur. The decoction uses Guizhi with doubled strength. Adding Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) moves outward. This prescription has miraculous merit in stopping sweating.
