[Tian] Infantile Tortoise Chest arises from lung heat causing distension and fullness that attacks the chest and diaphragm. It is also exacerbated if the nursing mother consumes hot-natured wheat noodles and the "Five Pungents" (Wuxin - five pungent vegetables), causing the chest protrusion to rise higher. It is advisable to moxa six points located in the gaps between the third ribs, two rows forward from each nipple at a distance of 1.5 cun. Each point receives three moxa cones (zhuang), with cone size resembling a wheat grain. In spring and summer, moxa from bottom to top; in autumn and winter, moxa from top to bottom. If this method is not followed strictly, even ten treatments may fail to cure one or two cases.
