[Haizang] When heat pathogens accumulate in the meridians and collaterals of children, sores may appear on the head, face, and body. The treatment involves administering Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction) with added Gua Lou Gen (Trichosanthis Radix) and Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), each half a qian, decocted and taken orally.
[Tang Shi] For severe sores in children, if the weather is mild, frequent bathing and changing of clothes should be provided; this method is called "Wai Xuan" (External Ventilation/Expulsion). In such cases, internal medication is not advisable. If medication is inevitably required for children, it constitutes a purgative method. However, if proper nursing is maintained, no disease can invade. Furthermore, ensuring regular breastfeeding without overfeeding will keep the child's body as resilient as a medicinal tree; this is the principle of health preservation.
[Tang Shi] A prescription for treating severe sores: Frequent bathing brings peace to the body, and "Wai Xuan" prevents illness.
In spring, use Liu Tiao (Willow Twig) and Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Herba); in summer, use Zao Ye (Jujube Leaf) and Huai Zhi (Sophorae Flavescentis Ramulus et Folium); in autumn and winter, use Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix). Decoct these in water for washing.
Prescription for Applying to Sores:
Jian Dao Cao (Sanguisorbae Herba), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix).
Grind the above herbs into fine powder. First clean the affected area, then mix with Ma You (Sesame Oil) and Qing Fen (Calomel) to apply topically.
[Tian Shi] Treatment methods for sores and tinea. For Jin Yin Chuang (Ecthyma/Circinate Eczema), apply Ku Hu San (Bitter Bottle Powder). For Gan Xuan (Dry Tinea), apply natural juice extracted from Yang Ti Gen (Aloe Root) mixed with Ni Fen (Calomel). For Shi Xuan (Damp Tinea), apply Qing Jin San (Blue Gold Powder).
Ku Hu San: Treats pediatric ecthyma that spreads continuously.
Ku Hu (Lagenariae Fructus) (2 liang), She Tui Pi (Ophichthidis Cutis Usta) (burned to ash, 0.5 liang), Feng Fang (Vespa Nidus) (lightly stir-fried, 0.5 liang), Liang Shang Chen (Dust from Beams) (1 he).
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with raw oil for topical application, spread on silk cloth, and apply as a patch.
Qing Jin San: Treats pediatric damp tinea and ecthyma.
Bai Jiao Xiang (Styrax Resin) (ground, 1 liang), Qing Fen (Calomel) (0.5 liang), Qing Dai (Indigo Naturalis) (2.5 qian).
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Dust the powder directly onto the sore.
[Mi Lu] Treats persistent pediatric wind-rash. Take Bai Fan (Alumen) 12 fen, dissolve in warm hot wine, and apply using horsehair dipped in the solution.
[Shan] Treats pediatric ulcerative sores on the head and face. Pound Mu Er (Wood Ear Mushroom) finely, mix with honey, and apply. Alternatively, mix Ping Wei San (Five Gentlemen Powder) with cold water for application; change the dressing when dry.
[Tian Shi] Treatment for Mei Lian (Eczema of the eyebrows). Apply Qing Jin San (Blue Gold Powder). If there is no improvement, burn Xiao Mai (Tritici Semen) until carbonized but retaining its properties, grind into fine powder, and mix with good oil for application.
[Danzi] Treats Yue Shi Chuang (Moon-bitten Sore/Eczema behind the ear) in children. Burn Qiu Yin Fen (Earthworm Excrement), mix with Zhu You (Pig Fat), and apply. For sores on the upper ear, burn Zhu Ye (Bamboo Leaf) into ash, mix with Zhu Zhi (Pig Fat), and apply; this is excellent. Yang Shi uses Ji Zi Bai (Egg White) mixed for application, resulting in immediate recovery. For treating ear moon-bitten sores, mix Hu Fen (Lead Carbonate) and apply. For sores behind the ear caused by moon-bitten condition, apply Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) powder for relief.
[Tang Shi] Bai Lian San: Treats pediatric frostbite-induced sores on the ears, characterized by itching or pain.
Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Bai Lian (Ampelopsis Radix) (each 0.5 liang).
Grind into powder. First wash the sore with hot water, then mix with raw oil for topical application.
