研细调敷。又方，五倍、朴硝、桑寄生、莲房，水煎，先熏后洗。一方加百药煎洗。

胆内，悬于 前四十九日熟，旋取为丸，如大菱角，急送入疮内，后追出恶物，日三，验。候疮口渐
合，用生面盖疮内一遍，出恶物妙。

上用枣三枚，取肉研细，搜和药末，如觉硬，滴少蜜，研成膏，量大小贴于病处。

〔《斗门》〕治痔疾有头如鸡冠者。用黄连末敷之即瘥。更加赤小豆末，尤良。（一方用黄连、木香末

雄黄 硫黄 明矾（各等分）
上为末，新盏盛药，先入矾末一半在底，次入余药，又将矾末一半盖上，用火 ，候矾枯为度，出火毒，
研末，津液调敷，干落为度。后用石膏、五倍子为末，收疮口。
周先生枯痔法
明矾 赤石脂（五钱） 辰砂（痛加一钱） 黄丹
上为末，先用郁金末护肛门。如无郁金，用姜黄末代之。调涂四围好肉，如不就，加绿豆粉打合，
却将枯药敷上。如肛门疼急，浓煎甘草汤放温，拂四围肛门上，就与宽肠药。
槐花 大黄 枳壳 木通 连翘 瞿麦 当归
上半酒半水煎。
枯药，早辰上一次，日午一次，洗去旧药。申时又洗去，又上一次。如要急安，至夜半子时又洗，上一次。
至次日且看痔头淡淡黑色，两三日如乌梅，四五日内，用竹篦子轻轻敲打痔头，见如石坚，至七八日便住，更
不须上枯药，且待自然如萝卜根乃脱去也。洗用甘草、荆芥、槐花，洗去旧药，方上新药。
凡医痔之法，且如明日要下手，今日先与此药，所以宽大肠，使大便软滑，不与痔相碍，且不泄泻。痔头
未脱落者，须要日日与之，以大黄一两煨，枳壳、炒当归酒洗一两，同为细末，如桐子大，好酒吞下。
治枯痔头虑生他证。凡用枯药，或触坏肾根，或水道赤涩痛，与此方。大黄、木通、生地各一两，滑石、
瞿麦各半两，同为细末，每用四钱，煎服。
催痔方 如枯尽未脱落，以此催之。好磁石一钱，白僵蚕、生川乌五分，同为细末，冷水调，敷上立脱。
凡用枯药去尽乳头，恐留痔硬头损破肛门四围成疮，用此药。龙骨一钱，石膏一钱，没药五分，腻粉五分，
同研十分细，先以荆芥汤洗，次掺之，切忌毒物、生姜。
痔脱后，用甘草汤、豆豉汤洗，再用荆芥、五倍子煎水洗，便不生脓。
治痔脱后肉痒方。用大粉草浓煎汤洗。
收肠方凡用枯药，脱下乳头，随即与此，以收其肠，此方补气，又收脓去血生肉，令痕壮。
人参 当归（各一两） 川芎 甘草 白芷 防风 浓朴 桔梗 桂枝 黄
上细末，半酒半水煎，如恶酒者，酒少水多煎之。夏月减桂、朴，加芩、柏。
〔《经》〕治痔 有头方。用芫花入土根不限多少，以净水洗，却入木臼捣用少许，水绞取汁，于银铜器内
慢火熬成膏，将丝线于膏内度过系痔，系时微痛，候心燥落时，以纸捻引入膏药于窍内，永除根。未落不得

川乌 草乌尖 胡椒 吴茱萸 花椒 白僵蚕（炒）
上细末，酒调敷四边，然后割之。又以此药敷之，否则亦用麝香、龙骨涂之。

其二论督脉而不见其取法。经云∶督脉生病，癃痔。盖后世取长强穴是也。

忽觉一道热气入肠中，因转泻鲜血、秽物一时出，至痛楚，泻后遂失胡瓜所在，登骡而驰去。
〔《玉》〕痔漏下血，里急后重，或痒或疼∶二白（在掌后纵纹上四寸，手厥阴脉，两穴相并，一
穴在两筋中，一穴在大筋外，针入三分，泻两吸。）长强（一寸，大痛方到穴，泻三吸。）
〔世〕灸法∶长强（一寸，大痛方到穴，泻三吸。如灸，可七壮，虽久不愈者，亦效。）

突出，一日数枚，脓溃即散。牝痔者，肛边发露肉珠，状如鼠奶，时时滴渍脓血。脉痔者，肠口颗颗发 ，

主，苦久不愈，必至穿穴为漏矣。

姜之类，犯之无效，此东垣格言也。

〔朱丹溪〕痔疮瘙痒。用灰苋菜（带根）浓煎汤，先熏后洗。另一法，频繁用河水清洗，并用蜗牛涂抹患处。
〔《济生方》〕痔漏用犍牛胆、猪胆各一个，腻粉五十文，麝香二十文，将胆汁、腻粉、麝香混合均匀，装入牛
胆内，悬挂在屋檐前四十九天使其熟透，随时取出制成丸药，如大菱角大小，迅速塞入疮口内，之后排出恶臭物质，每日三次，有效。待疮口逐渐愈合，用生面粉覆盖疮口一次，以排出恶物为佳。
〔朱丹溪〕另一方，治疗痔疮。用雄鸡胆、冰片混合均匀，贴敷患处。另一方，用熊胆涂抹，神效。
〔世医得效方〕治疗痔疮用活蜈蚣一条，用一小罐香油浸泡，陈年的更佳，敷用屡验。

Another prescription: *Galla Chinensis* (Wubeizhi), *Natrii Sulfas* (Puxiao), *Taxillus chinensis* (Sangjisheng), and *Nelumbinis Nelumbo* (Lianfang) are decocted in water; fumigate first, then wash. One variation adds *Baiyaojian* for washing.
[From *Baoming Ji*] Washing Method
*Cocculus trilobus* (Tianxianzi), *Schizonepetae Spica* (Jingjie Sui), *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium* (Xiao Jiao), *Vitexis Fructus* (Manjingzi).
Decoct the above herbs in water to wash.
[From *Bencao Gangmu*] Fumigation and Washing Prescription for Hemorrhoids. Use *Aurantii Fructus Immaturus* (Zhike) in any amount, grind into powder. Take two qian each time, add one cup of water, boil in a clay pot until boiling. First, sit over the pot mouth to fumigate. Then, pour out the liquid and wash when the temperature is comfortable. This is excellent. (This prescription is also effective for chronic hemorrhoids and can eradicate the root cause.)
[From *Shiyi Defang*] Washing Prescription for Hemorrhoids. For mild cases, use *Portulacae Herba* (Machixian) grown facing east and *Artemisia annua* (Liujinu) decocted strongly. Fumigate first, then wash by hand when warm, and dry. For severe cases, add half the amount of dried *Isatidis Caulis* (Daqingye Geng) and decoct together.
[Zhu Danxi] Itchy Hemorrhoids. Decoct *Amaranthus retroflexus* (Huaxian) with roots strongly. Fumigate first, then wash. Another method: frequently wash with river water and apply snails topically.
[From *Jisheng Fang*] For Fistula-in-Anno (Zhi Lou): Use one gallbladder from a castrated bull (*Qian Niu Dan*) and one pig gallbladder (*Dan*), 50 wen of Calomelas (*Nifen*), and 20 wen of Moschus (*Shexiang*). Mix the bile, Calomelas, and Moschus thoroughly, place inside the bull's gallbladder, and hang it under the eaves for forty-nine days until ripe. Take as needed, form pills like large water caltrops, and insert quickly into the wound. Evil matter will be expelled subsequently. Apply three times daily; this is effective. When the wound begins to heal, cover the wound once with raw flour paste to help expel evil matter.
[Zhu Danxi] Another prescription for treating hemorrhoids: Mix gallbladder of rooster (*Xiongji Dan*) with Borneolum Syntheticum (*Pian Nao*), and apply. Another prescription: Apply Ursine Gall (*Xiongdan*); this is miraculous.
[From *Shiyi Defang*] To treat hemorrhoids, take one live centipede (*Wugong*), soak it in a small jar of sesame oil (*Xiangyou*); aged oil is better. Apply externally; this has been repeatedly verified.
[No Author/Editor] Application Method for Hemorrhoids
*Sida chinensis* seeds (Ban Liang), *Cicadae Periostracum* (Chentui - five pieces), *Arecae Semen* (Binglang - one piece), all ground into powder.
Take three jujubes, extract the flesh, grind finely, and mix with the herbal powder. If too hard, add a little honey and grind into a paste. Apply according to size to the affected area.
[Luo Qianfu] Puhuang Powder for Treating Lower Body Fistula-in-Anno.
*Pollen Typhae* (Puhuang), *Draconis Sanguis* (Xuejie - Ban Liang).
Grind into fine powder. Apply a small amount to the affected area each time.
[From *Doumen Fang*] For hemorrhoids presenting with a head like a chicken comb: Apply *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huanglian) powder; healing occurs immediately. Adding *Adzuki Bean* (Chixiaodou) powder is even better. (Another prescription uses *Coptidis Rhizoma* and *Costi Rhizoma* powder; this is excellent.)
[No Author/Editor] Fumigation Method for Hemorrhoids
Skin (cut into squares, three fingers wide), Realgar (Xionghuang - date-sized, ground), Prepared Mugwort Leaf (Shuai Ai - egg-sized).
Grind into powder. Use a tile vessel, fill halfway with ash like burning incense, place inside a long barrel, and sit on top to fumigate. It is best if smoke exits from the mouth. Fumigate three times for permanent cure. Avoid wind and cold; avoid chicken meat and toxic foods.
[From *Bencao Gangmu*] Fumigation Prescription for Hemorrhoids. Use only *Rattus Norvegicus Skin* (Shulang Pi). Burn it in a bottle to produce smoke, sit over the bottle, and fumigate three to five times to eradicate the root cause.
[From *Shiyi Defang*] Hemorrhoid Prescription. One red-legged centipede (*Chijiao Wugong*), fried in sesame oil until crisp, blot dry on paper. Add *Frankincense* (Ruxiang) two qian, *Myrrh* (Moyao) two qian, *Moschus* (Shexiang) and *Calamina* (Fenshuang) each five fen, and human nail (Ren Zhijia) five qian. Wrap in mud, bake until dry and crisp, then grind to powder. Store in a goose feather tube and blow into the lesion. If there is fluid, drain it completely to avoid pain. The material forms a hard knot; tie it with thread and pull it off.
[Luo Qianfu] Miraculous Treatment for Hemorrhoids.
Realgar (Xionghuang), Sulfur (Huanghuang), Alum (Mingfan) in equal parts.
Grind into powder. Place in a new tea cup. Put half the alum powder at the bottom, then add the remaining medicine, and cover with the other half of the alum powder. Calcine over fire until the alum becomes dry and brittle. Remove fire toxicity, grind to powder, mix with saliva for application, until it dries and falls off. Subsequently, use *Gypsum Fibrosum* (Shigao) and *Galla Chinensis* (Wubeizi) powder to contract the wound.

Alum (Mingfan), Red Kaolin (Chishizhi - Wu Qian), Cinnabar (Chensha - add one qian if painful), Lead Monoxide (Hongdan/Huadan).
Grind into powder. First, protect the anus with *Curcuma aromatica* (Yujin) powder. If Yujin is unavailable, use *Curcuma longa* (Jianghuang) powder instead. Mix and apply around the healthy skin surrounding the lesion. If not adherent enough, add mung bean starch to help bind. Then apply the mummifying medicine. If anal pain is urgent, decoct *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao) strongly, let cool to warm, and wipe around the anus. Simultaneously administer bowel-relaxing medicine.
*Sophorae Flavescentis Flos* (Huaihua), *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Dahuang), *Aurantii Fructus Immaturus* (Zhike), *Akebiae Caulis* (Mutong), *Forsythiae Fructus* (Lianqiao), *Speranskiae Tuberculata* (Qumai), *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui).
Decoct with half wine and half water.
Apply the mummifying medicine once in the morning, once at noon, washing off old medicine before reapplication. Wash again at Shen hour (3-5 PM), remove old medicine, and apply again. For rapid results, wash and apply again at Zi hour (11 PM-1 AM).
The next day, observe if the hemorrhoid head is pale black. In two to three days, it resembles a dark plum. Within four to five days, gently tap the hemorrhoid head with a bamboo splint until it feels hard like stone. Stop after seven to eight days. No further mummifying medicine is needed; wait for it to naturally detach like a radish root. Wash with *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma*, *Schizonepetae Herba* (Jingjie), and *Sophorae Flavescentis Flos*. Wash off old medicine before applying new medicine.
Generally, for hemorrhoid treatment, if surgery is planned for tomorrow, administer this medicine today to relax the large intestine, soften stool, prevent obstruction by the hemorrhoid, and avoid diarrhea. For hemorrhoids not yet detached, administer daily: Roasted *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Dahuang) one liang, *Aurantii Fructus Immaturus* (Zhike), and Wine-washed *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui) stir-fried, one liang each. Grind to fine powder, form pills like paulownia seeds, and swallow with good wine.
To prevent complications from mummified hemorrhoid heads: If using mummifying medicine causes damage to kidney roots or urinary tract irritation/pain, use this prescription: *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma*, *Akebiae Caulis*, and *Rehmanniae Radix* (Shengdi) each one liang; *Talcum* (Huashi) and *Speranskiae Tuberculata* (Qumai) each half liang. Grind to fine powder. Take four qian each time, decoct and drink.
Promoting Detachment Prescription: If mummification is complete but detachment has not occurred, use this to promote it. Good Magnetite (Ci Shi) one qian, *Bombyx Batryticatus* (Bai Jiangcan) and Raw *Aconiti Lateralis Radix* (Chuanwu) five fen each. Grind to fine powder, mix with cold water, apply to promote immediate detachment.
After removing the nipple-like protrusion with mummifying medicine, fear that residual hard hemorrhoid heads may damage the perianal skin causing ulcers. Use this medicine: *Draco Ossis Femoris* (Longgu) one qian, *Gypsum Fibrosum* (Shigao) one qian, *Myrrh* (Moyao) five fen, Calomelas (Nifen) five fen. Grind extremely fine. First wash with *Schizonepetae Herba* (Jingjie) decoction, then sprinkle powder. Strictly avoid toxic substances and ginger.
After hemorrhoid detachment, wash with *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* decoction and *Sojae Semens Praeparatum* (Douchi) decoction. Then wash with *Schizonepetae Herba* and *Galla Chinensis* decoction to prevent pus formation.
Prescription for Itching After Hemorrhoid Detachment: Decoct *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Dafangcao/Gancao) strongly and wash.
Intestine-Contraction Prescription: After using mummifying medicine and detachment of the nipple, immediately administer this to contract the prolapsed intestine. This prescription tonifies Qi, stops discharge, removes blood, generates flesh, and strengthens scar tissue.
*Ginseng Radix* (Renshen), *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui) - each one liang, *Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Chuanxiong), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma* (Gancao), *Angelicae Dahuricae Radix* (Baizhi), *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng), *Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex* (Houpo), *Platycodonis Radix* (Jiegeng), *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi), *Scutellariae Radix* (Huangqin).
Grind to fine powder. Decoct with half wine and half water. If intolerant to wine, use less wine and more water. In summer, reduce *Cinnamomi Ramulus* and *Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex*, add *Scutellariae Radix* and *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huangbai).
[From *Jisheng Fang*] Prescription for Hemorrhoids with Heads. Use roots of *Genkwa Flos* (Yuanhua) buried in soil, any amount. Wash with clean water, pound in a wooden mortar, take a small amount, squeeze juice with water. Boil slowly in silver or copper vessels into a paste. Pass silk thread through the paste to tie the hemorrhoid. Tying causes slight pain. Wait for the base to dry and fall off. Then use a paper twist to introduce the paste into the cavity to eradicate the root permanently. Do not defecate until it falls off.
Mr. Zhou's Anesthetic for Hemorrhoid Excision
Raw *Aconiti Radix* (Chuanwu), Tip of *Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix* (Caowu Jian), *Piperis Fructus* (Hujiao), *Evodiae Fructus* (Wuzhuyu), *Zanthoxyli Pericarpium* (Huajiao), *Bombyx Batryticatus* (Bai Jiangcan - stir-fried).
Grind to fine powder, mix with wine, apply around the edges, then excise. Alternatively, apply this medicine, or else use *Moschus* (Shexiang) and *Draco Ossis Femoris* (Longgu) for coating.
For the three methods above (mummification, tying, excision), if previous internal and external medicines do not resolve the condition, these surgical methods should be used. They must be applied with utmost caution and not treated as routine procedures.
[From *Bencao Gangmu*] Treatment for Fistula-in-Anno. This arises from Wind-Heat affecting the Large Intestine.
Raw Arsenic Trioxide (Shengpi - one zi), Mercury (Shuiyin - one grain, rice-sized), Calomelas (Nifen - one zi), Moschus (Shexiang - one grain, adzuki bean-sized).
Place all ingredients in a mortar, grind extremely fine. If the hemorrhoid resembles a pearl, wash thoroughly with Alum water, dry, and rub the medicine onto the hemorrhoid with fingers. Itching indicates the medicine is working. Apply twice daily, washing afterwards. Stop medication after five days; efficacy will appear. If there is a hole, use a paper twist to guide the medicine inside, ensuring it reaches deep. Cover the hole with paper, apply twice daily, allowing the medicine to heal internally. (Chen Wuyue said: Avoid Raw Arsenic Trioxide due to risk of toxic vapors entering the abdomen. Both views are preserved here to treat protruding pearl-like lesions.)
Acupuncture and Moxibustion For Hemorrhoids, exclusively select the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian. The Classic states: "The diseases generated by the Foot-Taiyang meridian include hemorrhoidal malaria." Treat based on excess, deficiency, heat, cold, or sinking conditions. This refers to the later selection of Chengshan (BL57).
The second discussion concerns the Governor Vessel (Du Mai) but lacks specific extraction methods. The Classic states: "Diseases of the Governor Vessel include strangury and hemorrhoids." This refers to the later selection of Changqiang (GV1).
[Zhu Danxi] Treatment for Hemorrhoids. Ten slices of Garlic (*Dasii Bulbus*), head dirt molded into a cake. Place the head dirt cake on the hemorrhoid head, cover with garlic slices, and moxa.
[From *Bencao Gangmu*] Wang Wenxian, Magistrate of Xiazhou Prefecture, traveling through Luogu Valley on a mule, suffered from severe hemorrhoids. The condition worsened, resembling a cucumber protruding from the rectum, hot like sugar ash fire. He collapsed at a relay station. The station master said: "I have suffered this disease; moxibustion will cure it." Decoct Willow Branches (*Liuzhi*) strongly to wash the hemorrhoid first, then apply moxa cones directly on it. Moxa for three to five sessions. Suddenly, a stream of hot qi entered the intestines, followed by expulsion of bright blood and foul matter. Despite extreme pain, after evacuation, the "cucumber" disappeared. He mounted his mule and rode away.
[From *Yuji Wei Yi*] Hemorrhoidal bleeding, tenesmus, itching or pain: Erbai (PC6 region? Note: Text says palm posterior longitudinal crease 4 cun, Hand-Jueyin, two points side-by-side, one between two tendons, one outside large tendon. Needle 3 cun, draining technique, 2 exhalations.) Changqiang (GV1). Needle 1 cun, wait for strong pain sensation reaching the point, draining technique, 3 exhalations.
[From *Shiyi Defang*] Moxibustion Method: Changqiang (GV1). Needle 1 cun, wait for strong pain sensation, draining technique, 3 exhalations. If moxa, 7 cones; effective even for chronic cases.
Another method: Point opposite the umbilicus on the convexity of the spine (Moxa 7 cones.) Chengshan (BL57). Needle 2.5 cun, tonifying technique, one inhalation. If moxa, 7 cones.
[From *Jia Yi Jing*] Pain in the anus and rectum: Chengjin (BL56) governs. Pain in the anus and rectum: Feiyang (BL58), Weizhong (BL40), and Fulcheng (BL54?) govern. Anal pain: Zanzhu (BL1) governs. Anal pain: Huiyin (CV1) governs. Hemorrhoids communicating with the yin are fatal. Various diseases in the yin, pulling pain front and back, inability to urinate or defecate: Huiyin (CV1) governs all. Bone erosion from hemorrhoids: Shangqiu (SP5) governs.
[No Author/Editor] Intestinal dysentery manifesting as hemorrhoids is like a small mountain protruding from a large marsh. Any small fleshy protrusion in the nine orifices is called hemorrhoid. Not only occurring near the anus, there are nasal hemorrhoids, eye hemorrhoids, dental hemorrhoids, etc., with various appearances. Medical texts classify them into five types: Mu (Male), Pin (Female), Mai (Vessel), Chang (Intestine), Qi (Qi).
Mu Hemorrhoids: Sores and swelling protrude near the anus, several appearing daily, dispersing upon pus rupture.
Pin Hemorrhoids: Flesh pearls exposed near the anus, resembling mouse milk, dripping pus and blood intermittently.
Mai Hemorrhoids: Granular protrusions at the intestinal opening, painful and itchy, with continuous bleeding.
Chang Hemorrhoids: Knots with blood inside the intestine, alternating chills and fever, rectal prolapse during defecation.
Qi Hemorrhoids: Erupts upon fear or anger, anal swelling and pain, resolves when qi dissipates.
There is also Wine Hemorrhoid, triggered by drinking alcohol, with sore swelling and bleeding.
Blood Hemorrhoid: Clear blood follows every defecation without stopping. Treatment should focus on clearing heat, regulating blood, and smoothing qi. If prolonged without healing, it will inevitably perforate into a fistula.
Never use Raw Arsenic Trioxide (Shengpi) to treat hemorrhoids; toxic vapors entering the abdomen can lead to sudden death. Avoid raw, cold, hard foods, cold vegetables, alcoholic damp noodles, five pungent spicy hot spices, and dried ginger. Violating these rules renders treatment ineffective. This is a golden rule from Dong Yuan.
