Dietary injury combined with cold wind pathogen leads to fever, aversion to cold, and headache pain; food intolerance, belching with foul odor, vomiting of sour fluid, constipation, dysuria, abdominal heat, and distension.
Shuangjie Huoxiang Zhengqi Yin (Double-Resolving Agastache and Magnolia Bark Decoction) is used, adjusting dosage according to circumstances to resolve stagnation and harmonize the Stomach.
[Note]
Children who lack dietary moderation suffer from internal stagnation, and when additionally attacked by wind-cold externally, this syndrome arises.
The manifestations include fever with aversion to cold, headache, food intolerance, belching with foul odor, vomiting of sour fluid, constipation, dysuria, and abdominal heat with distension.
If heat is predominant, Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang (Double-Resolving Universal Sage Decoction) is used for simultaneous resolution of exterior and interior.
If there is no internal heat, Huoxiang Zhengqi Tang (Agastache and Magnolia Bark Decoction) is used to harmonize the exterior and interior.
Once the exterior pathogen is resolved, the Spleen is then regulated using Pingwei San (Stomach-Pacifying Powder) to promote digestion and eliminate stagnation.
Thus, there will be no residual external pathogen and no internal stagnant heat, and the disease will heal itself.
(Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang) Formula see "Shanghan" chapter.
(Huoxiang Zhengqi Tang)
Perilla Leaf (Perillae Folium), White Angelica Root (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Patchouli Herb (Agastaches Herba), Tangerine Peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Pinellia Tuber (Pinelliae Rhizoma, prepared with ginger), Poria (Poria), Areca Seed (Arecae Semen), Licorice Root (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw), Magnolia Bark (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, stir-fried with ginger), Platycodon Root (Platycodi Radix). Add fresh ginger and red dates, decoct in water and take orally.

Harmonizing Huoxiang Zhengqi Tang, Perilla Leaf and Angelica Root together with Patchouli, Tangerine Peel, Pinellia, Poria, Areca Seed, and Licorice, Magnolia Bark and Platycodon Root guided by dates and ginger.
(Pingwei San) Formula see "Qiu Ru" chapter, add Hawthorn Fruit (Crataegi Fructus), Medicated Leaven (Shenqu), and Malt (Hordei Fructus Germinatus).
Section on Cold Damage
Those who habitually have internal heat and contract wind-cold present with a red face, dry and cracked lips, dry mouth and nose, aversion to cold with high fever, frequent desire to drink cold water, mental restlessness, delirium, and difficult defecation.
To purge heat, Tongsheng San (Universal Sage Powder) is first appropriate; to clear heat, Liangge San (Cool the Diaphragm Powder) combined with Tianshui San (Heavenly Water Powder) is decocted.
[Note]
Children’s Zang-Fu organs are constitutionally prone to heat. When now injured by wind-cold, wind and heat struggle against each other, causing fire pathogens to become even more vigorous.
Therefore, symptoms manifest as a red face, dry and cracked lips, dry mouth and nose, aversion to cold with high fever, thirst with desire for cold drinks, mental restlessness, delirious speech, madness, and constipation of both stool and urine.
Treatment should disperse wind-cold and simultaneously purge internal heat, requiring the use of Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang for double resolution.
If after taking medicine sweating occurs and bowels move, and although the condition slightly improves, heat remains unsubsided, treatment should focus primarily on clearing heat.
Liangge San (Cool the Diaphragm Powder) combined with Tianshui San (Heavenly Water Powder) should be used, so that the exterior and interior become clear and the disease heals.
(Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang) Formula see "Shanghan" chapter.
(Liangge San) Formula see "Ji Jing Feng" (Acute Convulsion) chapter.
