(Buzhong Yiqi Tang, Tonify the Middle and Augment Qi Decoction)加入麦冬(Ophiopogonis Radix)、五味子(Schisandrae Fructus)来补益。
[Formula Song] Gastric abscess presents with swelling and pain at the Zhongwan (CV12) acupoint, without cough or expectoration, but rather spitting of pus and blood. The etiology involves toxicity from diet and fire from emotional disturbances. The treatment principles are the same as those for intestinal abscesses.
[Annotation] In the early stage of this condition, there is invariably dull pain and slight swelling at the Zhongwan (CV12) acupoint, accompanied by chills and fever alternating like malaria, and dry, scaly skin resembling fish scales. There is no cough, but pus and blood are spat up. This arises from toxicity of diet and fire of seven emotions, causing heat to gather in the stomach and form an abscess. If the pulse is deep and rapid, initially administer Qingwei Shegan Tang (Clear Stomach Belamcanda Decoction) to purge; if the pulse is choppy, indicating blood stasis, Danpi Tang (Moutan Decoction) should be administered to purge; if the pulse is surging and rapid, indicating that pus has formed, Chidou Yiyiren Tang (Red Bean and Coix Seed Decoction) should be used to drain pus. If the body is fatigued, there is asthma, thirst, and frequent urination, this indicates deficiency of Lung Qi; Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment Qi Decoction) added with Ophiopogonis Radix (Maibai) and Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi) should be used to tonify. The prognosis and treatment methods are the same as those for Large Intestine Abscess and Small Intestine Abscess.
Zhongwan (CV12), also known as the Front-Mu point of the Stomach, is located 4 cun above the umbilicus.
Formula: Qingwei Shegan Tang (Clear Stomach Belamcanda Decoction)
Composition: Belamcandae Rhizoma (Shé Gān), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shēng Má), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xī JiǎOphiopogonis Radix (Mài Dōng, de-heartened), Scrophulariae Radix (Yuán Shēn), Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dà Huáng), Scutellariae Radix (Huáng Qín) [each 1 qian], Natrii Sulfas (Máng Xiāo), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhī Zǐ), Phyllostachidis Folium (Zhú Yè) [each 5 qian]. Decoct in water and take orally.
[Formula Song] Qingwei Shegan Tang contains Belamcandae Rhizoma, Cimicifugae Rhizoma, Rhinocerotis Cornu, and Ophiopogonis Radix completely; along with Scrophulariae Radix, Scutellariae Radix, Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, and Natrii Sulfas; plus Phyllostachidis Folium and Gardeniae Fructus, the gastric abscess will be cured.
Another Formula: Chidou Yiyiren Tang (Red Bean and Coix Seed Decoction)
Composition: Phaseoli Semen Rubrum (Chì Xiǎo Dòu), Coicis Semen (Yì Yǐ Rén), Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix (Fáng Jǐ), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gān Cǎo) [equal parts]. Decoct in two zhong of water until eight fen remains, take after meals.
[Formula Song] Chidou Yiyi Tang is most miraculous, composed of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, Phaseoli Semen Rubrum, and Coicis Semen. When gastric abscess pus has formed and the pulse is surging and rapid, decoct in two zhong of water until eight fen remains and take orally.
Another Formula: Danpi Tang (See Large and Small Intestine Abscess section)
Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment Qi Decoction) (See Ulcer Section)
[Formula Song] Spleen abscess is caused by the coagulation of damp-heat and blood stasis, with swelling and dull pain at the Zhangmen (LR13) acupoint, accompanied by abdominal distension, dry throat, and short urine. Treatment succeeds by promoting urination to remove dampness and stasis, followed by tonification.
[Annotation] This condition begins at the Zhangmen (LR13) acupoint, invariably presenting with dull pain and slight swelling. It is caused by excessive consumption of cold and raw foods combined with damp-heat, or by blood stasis stagnating in the Spleen meridian. This leads to abdominal distension, dryness of the pharynx and throat, and scanty, astringent urination. Initially, Dahuang Tang (Rheum Decoction) and Chidou Yiyiren Tang (Red Bean and Coix Seed Decoction) should be used in combination to attack stagnation and郁结. Once bowel movements and urination are unobstructed and abdominal distension is completely resolved, Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) should be used to support the Spleen and regulate. The assessment of favorable and unfavorable courses follows the same principles as Gastric Abscess.
Zhangmen (LR13), also known as the Front-Mu point of the Spleen, is located 6 cun lateral to the umbilicus and 2 cun superior to it.
Another Formula: Dahuang Tang (Rheum Decoction) (See Large and Small Intestine Abscess section)
Chidou Yiyiren Tang (Red Bean and Coix Seed Decoction) (See Gastric Abscess section)
Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) (Namely, Xiangsha Liujunzi Tang minus Huoxiang and Sharen. See Ulcer Section)
