Frequent sneezing and runny nose with cough due to wind-cold, nasal congestion and heavy voice with frequent spitting of phlegm; for dispelling wind, use Shen Su Yin (Ginseng and Perilla Leaf Decoction) combined with Jin Fei Cao San (Golden Whorlwort Powder); for dispelling cold, Jia Wei Hua Gai San (Modified Hua Gai Powder) brings recovery.
[Note]
When children expose themselves by removing clothes, they may occasionally be invaded by wind-cold. The Lung is the first organ to receive the pathogenic factor, causing Qi to rebel upward and obstruct the throat and diaphragm, resulting in cough, sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, heavy voice, and frequent spitting of phlegm. Initially, use Shen Su Yin (Ginseng and Perilla Leaf Decoction) to release the exterior pathogenic factors, followed by Jin Fei Cao San (Golden Whorlwort Powder) to clear phlegm and stop cough. If cold pathogen blocks and conceals, treat with Jia Wei Hua Gai San (Modified Hua Gai Powder). Thus, the wind pathogen is resolved, the airway becomes unobstructed, and the cough ceases.

Wheezing involves rapid and short breaths, lifting shoulders and distending abdomen, with audible wheezing sounds; excess heat presents with rough breathing, chest fullness, and constipation; cold deficiency and phlegm-fluid retention manifest as Ma Pi Feng (Horse Spleen Wind).
[Note]
Rapid and short exhalation is called asthmatic urgency (Chuan Ji), characterized externally by lifting shoulders and distending the abdomen. If there is additionally a sound in the throat, it is called stridor (Xiao Hou). However, the origins of the disease vary. For instance, if breathing is rough, the chest is full, phlegm is thick, and there is constipation accompanied by wheezing, this is Excess Heat. If Qi is deficient, breath is faint, and one cannot continue breathing smoothly while wheezing, this is Deficiency Pathogen. Among these, there are cases where wind-cold stagnates and closes the lungs causing wheezing, and cases where phlegm-fluid overflows and rebels causing wheezing. Furthermore, there is a syndrome called Ma Pi Feng (Horse Spleen Wind), which is the most urgent condition. Physicians must distinguish them clearly so that medication acts effectively like an echo.
