According to the *Bingyuan Lun* (Treatise on the Causes and Manifestations of Diseases): Yi Suo (belching with acid regurgitation) is caused by phlegm-fluid retention in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner) and accumulated cold in the Spleen and Stomach. Consequently, food cannot be digested; undigested food leads to distension and rebellious Qi.
The *Ge Shi Fang* (Formulas from Master Ge) provides a formula for belching with acid regurgitation and acid heart after eating:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang), Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus, half sheng), Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, 3 liang), Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus, 12 pieces).
Boil in 6 sheng of water until 2 sheng remains. Divide into two doses. (This is identical to the *Ji Yan Fang*).
The *Qian Jin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) provides a formula for vomiting acidic fluid after eating:
Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, 2 liang), Shi Zhu Yu (Zanthoxyli Fructus used as spice, half sheng).
Pulverize these two ingredients. Take one fang cun bi (a square-inch measure) with wine, twice daily. It acts immediately.
The *Yi Men Fang* (Medical Gate Formulas) provides a formula for belching or acid regurgitation after eating:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang), Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus, 2 liang), Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, 3 liang), Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus, 12 pieces), Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 1.5 liang, sliced).

Pulverize and sieve the above into a powder. Take one fang cun bi with wine on an empty stomach. It is very effective.
The *Guang Ji Fang* (Broad Relief Formulas) provides a formula for vomiting acidic fluid, where every meal turns into acidic fluid that is vomited out:

Pulverize and sieve into a powder. In the early morning on an empty stomach, take 5 large liang of fresh ginger. Crush it with the peel and squeeze out the juice. Warm the juice, add one fang cun bi of the powder, stir well, and take all at once. Once daily.
