The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) states: "Infantile fontanelle depression refers to the condition where the fontanelle is sunken and uneven. This occurs due to heat within the abdomen (intestines), where pathogenic heat steams and harasses the Zang-Fu organs. When the Zang-Fu organs are heated, fluids are depleted (causing thirst). Although the infant drinks water, they suffer from diarrhea and incontinence. This is because the Qi and Blood of the Fu and Zang organs are deficient and cannot ascend to nourish the Marrow Sea and brain, resulting in a depressed fontanelle."

The *Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) states: "Moxibustion should be applied half a cun above and below the umbilicus, as well as one moxa cone on each foot of the Foot-Taiyin Splein Meridian."

Current research indicates: The *Yuyi Zhenjing* (Jade Remnant Needle Classic) states: "The acupoint of the Foot-Taiyin Splein Meridian is located posterior to the medial malleolus, in the depression among the white flesh and bone."

The *Zimu Milu* (Secret Record of Mother and Child) states: A method for treating frequent head shaking in infants:
"Rub the head with dog brain; this will lead to recovery."

The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* states: "If an infant is congenitally deficient in the Qi and Blood of the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian, the hair will be sparse, thin, and fail to grow. There are also cases where hair loss and failure to regrow occur due to scalp sores."

The *Duanju Fang* (Short Drama Formulas) states: "Take the central leaves of the Catalpa tree (*Catalpa ovata*), regardless of quantity, crush them, extract the juice, and apply it to the scalp. (The method in the *Chan Jing* [Classic of Obstetrics] is identical.)"

The *Xinlu Fang* (Newly Recorded Formulas) states: "Mix pig hair ash with honey and apply; hair will regrow."

Another formula: Apply juice from *Commelina communis* (Asiatic Dayflower); it is effective.

Another formula: Apply juice from plants parasitic on mulberry trees (*Bombyx batryticatus* or parasitic herbs); hair grows immediately.

The *Qianjin Fang* states: "Crush the root bark of *Lycium chinense* (Goji) into powder, mix with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month, and apply. Mixing with vinegar is also good."

The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* states: "The manifestation of 'White Baldness' (Bai Tu) involves white spots on the scalp that appear patchy. Initially resembling tinea, there are white scales on top, forming crusts and sores. Hair falls out, which is termed White Baldness."

The *Ge Shi Fang* (Formulas by Ge Hong) states: "Burn crucian carp (*Carassius auratus*) into powder, mix with soy sauce, and apply."

Another formula: Powderize *Veratrum nigrum* (Li Lu), mix with lard, and apply.

The *Chan Jing* states: "First wash the area thoroughly with lye made from mulch ashes. Then apply powdered white cremated ash mixed with a binder; this is excellent."

The *Duanju Fang* states: "Crush the central leaves of the Catalpa tree, extract the juice, and apply to the head; hair grows immediately."

The *Jiyao Fang* (Extremely Important Formulas) states: "Crush *Genkwa flos* (Daphne Genkwa), mix with lard to form a paste. Perform moxibustion, wash off the crusts, and then apply."

The *Luyan Fang* (Recorded Verified Formulas) states: "Apply bear fat (specifically the white fat) to the affected area."

The *Qianjin Fang* states: "Burn *Brassica rapa* (Turnip) leaves that have not been wetted by water into ash, mix with lard, and apply."

Another formula: Grind *Descurainia sophia* (Ting Li Zi) into fine powder. First wash the area, then apply.

Another formula: Take the green bark of peach trees (*Prunus persica*), crush it, mix with vinegar, and apply.
