The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases) states: When a child is injured by metal blades or sharp objects, it is referred to as a "metal wound" (Jinchuang).
The *Chan Jing* (Classic of Childbirth) states: Apply ashes from the hearth stove to the wound.
Another prescription: Burn horse manure into powder and apply it into the wound.
Another prescription: Burn cotton wadding into ash and place it into the wound cavity.
Another prescription: Burn blue cloth until completely charred into smoke/ash and apply it to the affected area.
Current analysis suggests: Apply Didong (*Ardisia japonica*) to the affected area.
The *Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold): Boil soybeans thoroughly to make a thick decoction, apply it warm to the affected area; this prevents scarring.
Another prescription: Apply white honey, ten times a day. (The *Seng Shen Fang* states: Consume orally more than ten times. Current analysis notes: The *Jingxin Fang* states: Dissolve honey and drink with cold water.)
Current analysis notes: The *Jingxin Fang* uses dissolved honey taken with cold water.
The *Chan Jing*: Apply powdered gypsum to the affected area to stop bleeding immediately.
Another prescription: Mix mulberry ash with water and apply to the affected area.
The *Chan Jing* provides prescriptions for removing bamboo, wood splinters, or needles stuck in children's flesh:
Burn deer horn into powder, mix with water, and apply to the wound; the foreign body will be expelled immediately, within one night, which is effective.
Another prescription: Crush fresh Achyranthes root (*Niuxi*) and apply to the wound to allow spontaneous expulsion.
Another prescription: Chew white plum and dark plum, apply to the affected area, and coat with water mixture.
Another prescription: Use *Wu Liubuxing* (Lycii Cortex) and *Qumai* (Dianthus Herba), available locally; administer one cubic inch dose orally, three times a day, allowing spontaneous expulsion.

*Da Huang* (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), *Huang Lian* (Coptidis Rhizoma), *Pu Huang* (Typhae Pollen) (each 2 fen); *Mang Xiao* (Natrii Sulfas) (1.5 fen).
Boil in two sheng of water until reduced to one sheng, strain out the dregs, add Mang Xiao, divide into two or three doses; blood stasis should be expelled through urination and defecation. (This matches the *Chan Jing*.)
The *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun* states: Children suffering from polyphagia eat continuously yet never feel full. They fail to gain muscle mass, have distended abdomens, and suffer from frequent, voluminous stools (diarrhea, also known as Huoxie); this is due to the intestines and stomach failing to maintain control.

Burn fourteen rat droppings into powder and administer orally.
The *Qianjin Fang*: Take one jin of meat, tie it with a rope, drag it on the ground for several li, do not wash it, roast it over fire, and consume it; this is effective.
