The *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Manifestations of All Diseases) states: Chancre (sores/ulcers), arises from the deficiency of the skin and interstices, where wind-damp pathogens invade and obstruct the flow of Qi and Blood, leading to condensation and aggregation. It commonly occurs between the hands and feet, appearing symmetrically, resembling newly formed fruits of *Evodiae Fructus* (Wuzhuyu). Due to pain and itching, scratching creates sores that exude yellow fluid, spreading and eroding the skin, causing fissures. The condition fluctuates between remission and exacerbation, and may involve parasitic changes, hence named "Chancre" (Sore). There are also dry-type and damp-type manifestations.
*Ge Shi Fang*: For treating sudden onset of chancre (symmetrical blisters or erosions on extremities), which often appear in pairs on the feet and toes/fingers, and wax/wane with the lunar cycle:
Apply blood from a white dog to the affected area for immediate cure.
Another prescription: Apply yellow ash mixed with vinegar to the lesion.
Another prescription: Crush peach leaves, mix with vinegar, and apply to the sore.
Another prescription: Boil vinegar until bubbling, add a handful of raw garlic scapes (or leeks), cook thoroughly, remove, and apply as a poultice to the sore for instant healing.
Another prescription: Take equal parts of tangled hair and head dandruff, along with fourteen snail shells, burn them into powder, mix with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month, and apply topically.
*Seng Shen Fang*: Treatment for chancre:
Take *Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma* (Shichangpu) growing on rocks, crush it, mix with lard, and apply to the sore. The layer should be about two fen thick; first wash off the crusts.
Another prescription: Moxibustion directly on the sore is most effective.
*Qian Jin Fang*: Prescriptions for all types of chancre:
Moxibustion at Qijian (EX-LE5) on the big toe, seven applications (totaling fourteen moxa cones).
Moxibustion on the tip of the big toe is also beneficial.
Another prescription: One sheng of vinegar, stir-fry one handful of *Allium macrostemon Bulbus* (Xie) and crush it.
Another prescription: Roast [missing character] and apply topically.
Another prescription: Stir-fried sugar from the twelfth lunar month applied topically.
Another prescription: Burn old shoe straps into powder and apply.
Another prescription: Burn fat pine resin to extract oil and apply.
It is also stated: For dry-type chancre: Mix ash with vinegar and apply.
Another prescription: Apply hot cow dung.
It is also stated: For damp-type chancre: Burn dried toads, mix with lard, and apply.
*Lu Yan Fang* states: One sheng of *Brassica rapa var. trilocularis Seed* (Wujingzi), roasted and sifted, wrapped in silk cloth, rubbed back and forth over the sore three times daily.
*Guang Ji Fang*: For treating chronic chancre that does not heal:
Roast fermented soybeans (*Sojae Semen Praeparatum*, Chi Dou) into powder, soak and wash with rice water, then dry. Mix with sesame oil and apply, wrap with old oiled fabric for three days, then unwrap.
